O When the “Garbage” Goes Marching In

O When the “Garbage” goes marching in . . . to be unburdened by what has been.
When discussing “Tocqueville’s limitations” and “the shortcomings of Democracy in America today” during The New Criterions’ “Democracy in America” symposium, Glen Ellmers writes
The essential problem is that Tocqueville misunderstood America’s political principles and therefore, at some level, didn’t really understand the modern world. He thought that the very real problem of centralized administration would arise from a popular demand for conformity. But it is not the American people (who even today cherish individual freedom and admire success) who have demanded a regime of egalitarian social engineering. Rather, it is the ruling class, alienated from almost all of America’s great traditions, that has rejected the political equality of the Declaration of Independence (a document Tocqueville never really appreciated). This managerial elite appeals to an entirely different set of assumptions about the power of rational methodology to govern society, including, of course, assumptions about its own privileged position. (Emphasis mine.)
The lecturing managerial elites include a gallery of “Christian” social engineers: Never Trumpers of The After Party, the Trinity Forum and of podcasts, church seminars and Evangelicals for Harris.

Victor Davis Hanson joins John Anderson after President-elect Trump’s victory to explore why his direct style resonated with middle America. Hanson examines the economic and social factors driving Trump’s appeal, from rising inflation and border insecurity, to the sense of exclusion felt by many Americans. This interview highlights the stark divide between global elites and everyday citizens, examining how media and institutions underestimated public frustration.

The never-ending resistance to Trump and America First policies:
Following suit, I wrote to both Indiana Senators this morning, saying . . .
Senator,
What the hell is going on in the US Senate? Hours after Donald Trump wins the most conclusive mandate in 40 years, Mitch McConnell engineers a coup against his agenda by calling early leadership elections in the senate. Two of the three candidates hate Trump and what he ran on. One of them, John Cornyn, is an angry liberal whose politics are indistinguishable from Liz Cheney’s.
McConnell does not want the new administration to succeed. He wants to maintain control through his crony friends. If you care about America then DO NOT align yourself with either of McConnell’s two choices.
Rick Scott of Florida is the only candidate who agrees with Donald Trump. Endorse Rick Scott and not the others. Don’t let McConnell get away with more resistance to America First for the sake of McConnell first.
Write your senators before Wednesday!
The same evil empire:
How blue states are plotting to thwart Trump
They’re prepping lawsuits and legislation to stymie the incoming administration.
Democratic governors are signaling their willingness to defy the new Trump administration, vowing to protect freedoms in their states and to wage legal and political battle if the president-elect follows through with controversial proposals.
(What freedoms are they talking about? More abortions. More transgender mutilation of children?)
Trump resistance rises in states led by Democratic governors

On one side, there’s a party of lecturing, control, intrusion, overreach, and lawfare.
On the other side, there’s a party of Fight.
On one side, there’s a party of destroying democracy to save democracy (If Dems take control of the House in two years, they will work to impeach President Trump once again.)
On the other side, there’s a party of Making America Great (and Healthy) Again.
On one side, there’s a party of lecturing about radical diversity, equity, and inclusion.
On the other side, there’s a party of those tired of being lectured to about racism and radical diversity, equity, and inclusion.
On one side, there’s a party of the media bubble, projection, lies, “misinformation”, and propaganda.
On the other side, there’s a party of downhome common sense
On one side, there’s a party of division, atomization, loneliness, and “we’re-in-this-together unity” by coercion.
On the other side, there’s a party united in the good that has been.
On one side, there’s a party whose ideas (ideologies, really) are so misaligned with the country that it loses the popular vote.
On the other side, there’s a party that tapped, not into false consciousness, but into very human concerns about the economy, inflation, the border, and safety – that tapped into reality.
