The account of my neighbor Mr. Jones . . .
Just yesterday I saw a van pull into our apartment building parking lot. The van was white with big block letters on the side: COMMUNITY CARE. And beneath, Wellness Starts and Ends with You! Above the van was a swarm of police helicopters.
Five figures got out of the van. They were covered head to toe in chemical hazard PPE. Each carried a canister with a hose and nozzle attached. I thought What the heck is this? Are these guys the new pest control? There must be some huge cockroaches! I watched as they entered my building.
Through my door’s peephole I could see them knocking on the door of my neighbor’s first-floor apartment. The door opened and a hand came out. A bony finger pointed at my door. What is going on?
Then I heard a knock. I opened slightly and said “Can I help you?” The hazmat suit answered, “I am Inspector Lazarus, head of COMMUNITY CARE. I want to talk to you.” Hazmat guy then stuck his cannister into the door opening.
“What do you want?” I asked trying to push the cannister out the door with my foot.
“Didn’t you see the notice posted in the lobby?”
“What notice?”
One of the hazmat suits ripped a yellow paper from the bulletin board and handed it to Inspector Lazarus.
“The rule is simple”, Lazarus read, “get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do.” He handed me the paper. “You sir, are out of compliance according to your neighbor! Step aside!”
Hazmat pushed the door open and sprayed me with some acrid smelling mist. Four hazmat suits followed him in.
I yelled “Stop!” but the four hazmat suits began spraying down my apartment. One in my bedroom, one in my bathroom, one in my kitchen and one in my living room. I headed toward the bedroom.
“Back off!” Inspector Lazarus grabbed my arm. “Let them do their job!”
“The job of what, may I ask?”
“Community care and wellness,” Inspector Lazarus replied. “Our records show that you have not been vaccinated.”
“There’s no law that says I have to.”
“Ah, but there are regulations. Public health must be regulated. And what will your neighbors think if you do not obey the simple rule, Mr. Jones?”
“My neighbors can think what they like.”
“Ah, but that’s where you are wrong, Mr. Jones. Community wellness includes peace of mind.”
“Then tell them that I . . . Look! I’m healthy! . . . I just had my yearly physical. I’m in perfect health! My blood pressure is low, my cholesterol is low, my . . .my doctor will prescribe Ivermectin if I have symptoms.”
“Is your doctor a Wellness doctor, Mr. Jones?” Lazarus tightened his grip on my arm.
“A what?” “What is that horrible stuff they’re spraying?
“Mr. Jones, this is a public health matter. Not just any doctor . . . It’s what you don’t know that will hurt you, Mr. Jones! That’s why the National Public Health Recovery & Rebuild Administration was created and given plenary power of public health. You must choose a doctor on their list. It’s that simple.”
“What’s simple is that I have a doctor. I’ve known him for years.”
“If your doctor passes the NPHRRA certification program then he can put a Wellness sign on his door and web page. If not, you will have to choose from the list. Here’s doctor Smoltz. See him this afternoon. I made an appointment for you.” Inspector Lazarus held up his phone and showed me the screen.
Right then a hazmat suit walked up with my laptop, phone and my handguns. Through the window I saw my car being towed away.
“Hey, you have no right!”
No cause for alarm, Mr. Jones. We are taking precautions as part of the NPHRRA proactive initiatives. We remove anything that may cause future harm. We are to Build Back Better, as they say.””
“You have no right! I’ll take you to court!”
“What are you going to do, Mr. Jones? Go all Supreme Court on me? Listen! The courts are comprised of cooperating judges. They are accountable to NPHRRA and not to the law and certainly not to that thing called The Constitution. What does it say about public health science? Nothing!”
“Get the hell out of my apartment!”
“Calm down Mr. Jones. There’s no cause for alarm. You’ll get your things back when you comply with the simple rule. Oh, and we have detained your sister until you do.”
“What the hell?! You can’t do that!”
“Public health is a matter of national security, Mr. Jones. How can your neighbor Mrs. Niblock feel secure if you are not complying with a simple rule?”
“She can mind her own business to feel secure!”
Now, here’s what’s in store for you Mr. Jones. You are to be confined to your home until further notice. I will come back tomorrow. If you have not visited Dr. Smoltz and haven’t worn your mask you will be publicly censored by the community. Your name will appear in the press.”
“I don’t have a car now. How could I even get to this Dr. Smoltz?”
“Use this NPHRRA approved phone to call the NPHRRA approved Uber to get you to the appointment. Oh, and another thing. If you do not comply with the simple rule, your rent will increase and you will be forced to pay state and federal VAX taxes.”
“This is insane! This Is not fair!”
“Mr. Jones, please! The NPHRRA operates under the direction of the Center for Progress Control. NPHRRA’s mission is to enforce health equity —embed equity in practice, process, action, innovation, and organizational performance and outcomes; build alliances and share power via meaningful engagement; ensure equity in innovation for marginalized and minoritized people and communities; push upstream to address all determinants of health; and foster truth, reconciliation, racial healing, and transformation.
When you are vaccinated, Mr. Jones, you will be given a CPC ID card. The card will provide access to all benefits and functions approved by the NPHRRA. The card will remain valid as long as you follow CPC/NPHRRA guidelines. See. There is no cause for alarm. It’s that simple, Mr. Jones.”
With that, the hazmat suits left. I opened my windows. The sharp-tasting air made me sick. The whole business made me furious.
I had no way to contact anyone. When I finally decided to leave the apartment, I saw Mrs. Niblock wagging her finger at me through from her apartment window. I wanted to give her the finger but I thought better of myself. I walked over to my neighbor Jennifer and told her what had happened. We came up with a plan.
When COMMUNITY CARE came back the next day – hazmat suits and helicopters, I told Inspector Lazarus that I would see Dr. Smoltz that afternoon. I had made a new appointment. I told Lazarus that I was afraid the day before but now I was willing to comply with the simple rule. I even put a mask on to take out the garbage that morning so that Mrs. Niblock would see and report it to Lazarus.
Then, I pulled Lazarus aside and offered him $5000.00 dollars to have my sister released immediately. I showed him the money. He took it and called to have her released.
“Mr. Jones, I am happy to hear that you are willing to comply. As our motto states Wellness Starts and Ends with You! I didn’t want wellness to be the end of you.
Anyway, Mr. Jones, this isn’t about you or me. This is about salvation itself. Dr. Smoltz will report back to me. So, there should be no further cause for alarm.”
When the helicopters and the COMMUNITY CARE van left, that was the signal for Jennifer. She drove to a side street a block away from the apartment building. That morning she had packed up her things and put them in the car. I carried all the things I could and snuck out the patio door so as to be out of Mrs. Niblock’s sight. I placed my things in Jennifer’s car.
We left town that morning. On the way out we bought some burner phones. We drove by my sister’s house and gave one to her. We told her to leave town. Then we drove all day and night to a remote location. We joined the others, The Remnant, who had fled “community care”.
That location shall remain unnamed. Who knows who may be reading this?

The made-for-TV melodrama General Fauci has aired for a year and a half. Its storyline of a global pandemic, mimicking the fantasy narratives of the “We’re-all-gonna-die-unless-somebody-from-science-saves us” pandemic movies of recent years, has a twist. Instead of the pandemic creating zombies, the pandemic mitigation methods – masks and vaccines – creates zombies.
The main character of General Fauci is scripted as the main character of pandemic policy for the nation. His background in funding gain-of-function research and of telling people what to do is the basis for his moral high ground authority. Entire episodes are viewed through the eyes of the main character.
The doctor believes that he can bring about a Great Reset of humanity if only people would do what he says. The supporting cast, media and other hand-wringing types, is an approving Greek chorus. But the audience is kept guessing as to what the doctor is saying, as noble lies come out of both sides of his mouth.
Each daily soap episode presents the same cast of grim-Woke actors and the same set and props. Each daily soap episode is designed to play on emotions to gain viewership. Each episode is a storyline to be continued to gain repeat viewers.
A subplot of the General Fauci soap was added last November: insurrectionists install a feeble-minded puppet dictator in the White House. The Great Reset of humanity is placed in his hands.
Before General Fauci aired, a Washington-based Dark Shadows style soap production aired for over a year. All My Collusions depicted the creepy, campy, and cultish world of psychotic Democrats.
Now, after a year and a half airing of the tedious General Fauci, viewer’s questions arise: “When does it end?” and “Is there more to life than meets the media eye?”
In answer to viewer’s first question, the word on the street is that a new soap opera is in the offing. As the General Fauci series winds down, another melodrama will replace it: a climate justice series called “The Days of Our Earth”
The new soap will present the daily ordeals and hardships of Mother Earth as she deals with the effects of climate change. Fearing the immediate end of the earth, Dark Green religionists join the Build Back Better Brotherhood to save Mother Earth by ridding her of excess carbon-based humans. Script writers have been working on the soap for several years.

Fluff. Ubiquitous fluff. Cheerios for breakfast. Disneyland for vacation and TV productions for 24 hour-a-day viewing. Fabrications of fluff abound in art, architecture, and cinema. Because of fluff’s pervasive immediacy, you may not have noticed that it is a replacement of what is real. Fantasy objects are the substitute. These offer a quick detachment from reality and immediate gratification as real emotions become involved.
As people subject their healthy truth-seeking imaginations to today’s pandemic of fantasy, more and more fluff is required to be injected into their minds. This past year we’ve seen that political correctness and scientism abhor a vacuum. Both have gone wherever people let it in. And, so has Marxism.
Now under the cover of the “Build Back Better” (BBB) promotion, Marxism proposes, using historical materialism as its determinant, salvation via a collective will. We are to believe that through BBB, man will have the ability to perfect himself. And, that BBB will overcome the world’s ills: pain, suffering, poverty, conflict and sadness. And that the earth will be saved from mankind. And through BBB, technology will produce a transhuman man who will be immortal – basically, a nihilist who’s all fluff for all time.
Despite its almost universal marketing by college and university professors and by the “Build Back Better” political harpies, Marxism is a dangerous fantasy drug. Those who take Marxism into their lives will feel a sense of security and power at first. But they will soon come to feel great loss and emptiness. For, the Marxism addicted are injecting the fluff of nihilism into their system.
Polish philosopher and historian Leszek Kolakowski, called a “thinker for our time” by philosopher Roger Scruton, was exiled from Poland in 1968 for his criticism of Marxism and Communism. He had firsthand knowledge of the fantastical machinations of Marxist ideology. Consider the following passage from his 1976 essay On the So-Called Crisis of Christianity:
Christianity is thus the awareness of our weakness and misery, and it useless to argue that there exists or could exist a “Promethean Christianity,” that is, that Christian faith could be reconciled with hope for self-salvation. Two great ideas of the nineteenth century which, despite all that separates them, perfectly embodied this Promethean expectation –those of Marx and of Nietzsche – were anti-Christian in their roots, and not as a result of accidental historical circumstances. Nietzsche’s’ hatred of Christianity and of Jesus was a natural consequence of his belief in the unlimited possibility of mankind’s self-creation. Nietzsche knew that Christianity is the awareness of our weakness., and he was right. Marx knew this too, and from the young Hegelians, he took over and transformed the philosophy (more Fichtean than Hegelian) of self-creation and futuristic orientation. He came to believe that the collective Prometheus of the future would reach a state in which his thought and action would be indistinguishable and in which even “atheism” would lose its reason for existence, since people’s self-affirmation would be entirely “positive”, not negatively dependent on the negation of God.

To answer the soap viewer’s second question “Is there more to life than meets the media eye?” we must look elsewhere. . .
Have a good look at the birds in the sky. They don’t plant seeds, they don’t bring in the harvest, they don’t store things in barns – and your father in heaven feeds them! Think how different you are from them! Can any of you add fifteen inches to your height just by worrying about it?
And why worry about what to wear? Take a tip from the lilies in the countryside. They don’t work; they don’t weave; but let me tell you, not even Solomon in all his finery was dressed as well as one of these. So if God gives that sort of clothing even to the grass in the field, which is here today and on the bonfire tomorrow, isn’t he more likely to clothe you too, you little-faith lot?
So don’t worry away with your ‘What’ll we eat?’ and ‘What’ll we drink?’ and ‘What’ll we wear?’ Those are all the things the Gentiles fuss about, and your heavenly father knows you need them all. Instead, make your top priority God’s kingdom and his way of life, and all these things will be given to you as well.
So don’t worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow can worry about itself. One days’ trouble at a time is quite enough. (Matt. 6:26-34)
Long before the melodrama of General Fauci, long before “emergency use” vaccines, and long before historical materialism’s death toll of millions, the Son of Man walked 30-some years in an unsanitary disease-filled world. All manner of health threats – smallpox, parasitic infections, malaria, anthrax, pneumonia, tuberculosis, polio, skin diseases including leprosy, head lice, scabies and more – existed in the first century.
Jesus was fully aware of the pain, suffering and groaning of his creation. He was fully aware of the reality that people were dealing with. He knew that many people of that time had only the bare necessities. Many lived hand-to-mouth. What did Jesus offer when he saw the growing crowds and went up the hillside, sat down, took a deep breath and began to teach them? (Matt. 5:1-2)
Jesus did not offer vain words and soap operas to play on emotions. He didn’t paint people as victims. He didn’t peddle ideology. He didn’t offer the Power of Positive Thinking. He didn’t offer critical theory. He didn’t offer diversity, equity and inclusion training. He didn’t pander for their attention with talk about skin color or gender or sexual preference. He didn’t offer collective Promethean self-salvation.
Jesus didn’t tell the crowds to rise up as one collective will to revolt and destroy what is and build a socio-economic system to produce the outcomes they desired. No.
What did Jesus offer? Jesus offered the kingdom of God – a physical-spiritual reality that Marxism denies. He offered a new Torah that fulfilled the old Torah. He offered a change of focus. Outsiders are now insiders. The first will be last. Washing feet, and not stepping on feet to get ahead, is the kingdom way.
Jesus spoke in terms of individual human agency. He said that his followers would be blessed if they acted in the ways he described. They would know the happiness and joy of life in the kingdom of God (not available under Marxism (cf. Psalm 4: 7)).
He offered awareness of reality from the perspective of a shepherd caring for his sheep. Jesus’ hillside discourse is found in the gospel according to Matthew (Matt. 5, 6 & 7). The first verse of Matthew’s gospel records that Jesus is a descendent of David, a shepherd who became king.
As we read in the Matthew passage above, Jesus offered the world as it turns – a cosmology of Creator love and care. He pointed to aesthetic flora and forage-to-mouth fauna as empirical evidence of his Father’s love and care for the evolutionary creation he put in motion some 13.8 billion years before.
“When does the melodrama end?” It’s up to you. People believe what they want to the believe. Psalm 1 tells us that there are two paths that one could follow.
“Is there more to life than meets the media eye?” It’s depends on where you look. Psalm 103 relates a worldview of good – blessing and benefit, compassion and concern, and righteousness and redemption – as man relates to God.
As the world turns you may feel like you are in a dryer drum on an Air Fluff cycle. In such a state you easily become discombobulated and distressed. You will want to take to heart Psalm 4 – David’s plea for deliverance from fluff – vain words and lies – that disturbs his sleep.
Turn off the Air Fluff cycle and remove the lint from your life. Have a good look at the birds in the sky. Take a tip from the lilies in the countryside. The unchanging One who put the universe in motion, feeds the birds, and dresses lilies in lavish beauty will look after you as the world turns.

Like humans, flowers inherit their appearance from genes. Pigments are “born” into these plants, producing a range of colors across the spectrum. The same chemical, carotenoid, that produces pigment in tomatoes and carrots, also produces yellow, red, or orange color in certain flowers. Before I go, say, to the hair salon or to the car repair shop or to a doctor’s appointment, I think about what I want and what I don’t want. Then, I am able to choose the path I take.
During my yearly checkup in March, the doctor came into the room all gowned and masked up. He asked if I was vaccinated. I told him “No”. He asked “Why not?” and I told him.
“Why should I take an “emergency-use”-untested- vaccine into my system? Should I get COVID, if I haven’t had it already, my body will deal with it. I will gain immunity and build immunological memory against it. If I get it and have symptoms, I’ll call you for Ivermectin.”
The doctor, looking concerned, went on to justify his giving the vaccine to his other patients. What was troubling: he agreed with me that the vaccine hadn’t been adequately tested. He also agreed with me when I said “You can’t live in fear.” (By that I meant that I am not afraid of COVID or of disobeying authorities who impose scientism tyranny.)
As you know, every prescribed medication has warnings, precautions and contraindications so you can make an informed decision with regard to its use. You would think that an “emergency-use”-untested- vaccine would be an absolute contraindication. And, especially when the recovery rate from Coronavirus is over 99%.
I chose the path I would take and said “No”. I based my adult decision on 1) the absolute contraindication presented to me and 2) the increasing number of adverse reactions (see links in previous posts) and 3) the warnings presented by Dr. Bhakdi in my previous post

Just this week you and I were talked to, like we were little children, by the Biden regime. Joe Biden is now doing the deciding for you and me. Joe Biden now is choosing for you and me. I don’t know how I made it over 68 years without CDC guidance and Joe Biden.
(Apparently, Joe Biden didn’t use ultimatums in his own home. Did Biden ever lay down the law for his son Hunter? If he had, maybe Hunter wouldn’t have turned out to be such a . . .)
Per this ultimatum, our paths are limited to two. You and I are not to venture outside the paths Big Brother has told us walk in. Progressives, like the Evil One, desire a controlled opposition.
Biden’s pronouncement (of no Constitutional standing) was made to produce an outcome: separate strata of obedience to the state. On top, in pride of place, are those who conform to state vaccination. Below them are those who are not “vaxxed” and submit to wearing a mask as a sign of obedience. At the bottom, implicit in the pronouncement, are those who refuse to obey “the rule is”.
Those who refuse both vax and mask are the unclean. They are yet to be washed in the blood of communism.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary exacerbates the divide by producing its own version of a “yellow star” label. Its inscription “anti-vaxxer” connotes “A person who opposes vaccination or laws that mandate vaccination.” The world is lining up behind the dark forces that demand your total allegiance of mind, body and soul.
Now, when someone is commanding me to put something into my body to be acceptable to them, I say “No.” In the Bizarro world of Progressives it is not ironic that those of the Biden regime are the same people who condone “My body, my choice” when it comes to ripping a human from the womb for no other reason than “I want to.” These are the ways of the wicked.
I have also said “No” to mask wearing. I have never been a mask wearer – not here not there and not anywhere at any time. I won’t wear a mask so I can go into a store, or to a hair salon or to church. How ludicrous. How debasing. There is no science that says I should wear a mask. I follow the science and not the CDC and not the “scientism” pronouncements coming down from Mount Olympus.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary will now have to include “anti-masker”: A person who opposes mask wearing or laws that mandate mask wearing; archaic, an individual who refuses to debase themselves to please others.
It certainly appears that mask wearing and now getting a vaccination has become an “us and them” moral statement. Some are copping an attitude: “I am superior to you because I conform to the rules of my political tribe.” And, “I care about people and you don’t.”
For others, it is going along to get along with “governing authorities”. These are the passive -aggressive. They will lash out about restrictions in sermons or in print or to their spouse but they conform nonetheless.
And many conform to the ludicrous out of fear of reprisal. Progressives, like the Evil One, welcome the controlled opposition.
As priests, rectors, rabbis and ministers now submit to CDC guidelines, will they also subject themselves to the “governing authorities” and follow civic leader’s instructions when ultimatum guidelines are handed down: submit to and preach Critical Race Theory or you will not be allowed to minister? At what point do you not conform to Caesar’s pronouncements? Do you “go along to get along” so as to look like a “good little Christian” and to not suffer any consequences?
In the church we need leaders not lemmings. We have enough facilitators. We need leaders. Look at the Apostle Paul. Read the Acts of the Apostles and Paul’s letters. Paul spent a lot of time in prison because he spoke the truth. He didn’t go out of his way to break the law. He just spoke highly controversial things – there is one true God, his Son came to earth, was crucified, rose from the dead and now is Lord.
Paul’s words were perceived as heretical and just plain silly by the Greeks who had many gods and no resurrection of the dead in their philosophy. Pauls’ words were received as insurrection to the Romans who addressed their own sovereign as “Lord”.
Paul, like Jesus, submitted to the “governing authorities” AT THE POINT the “governing authorities” decided to deal with him. He accepted the consequence of his words and actions. He did NOT accept a “go along to get along” conformity that would keep him out of trouble.
Listen. Returning to normal is not gaining ground in the spiritual war confronting us. I am not sorry. I can’t stand namby-pamby leaders. If a fig tree is not producing it is of no use.
Will you stand before the Lord one day and say the following?
“You gave me ten talents and I kept them safe. I stayed within the status quo so as to not bring attention to them. I didn’t want to take the risk. So, I buried what you gave me and I obeyed the “governing authorities” who came snooping around. I did what they asked. Here’s the ten talents back. Good luck with that.”
Now, do you as a Christian think that because “science” is involved that it is OK for your mind to go into neutral and therefore you must submit to the “governing authorities”? If Caesar said “You must kill all your firstborn to end the pandemic” would you then resist?
What does it take for you to wake up and see the ways of the wicked and to not submit to them? Joseph and Mary didn’t stick around to obey the “governing authority” Herod when he commanded that first-born children be killed (to assuage his fear of losing power).
Haven’t you noticed? Progressives have no use for you if you don’t conform. And when you do, they still have no use for you except as a prole to do their bidding. It is their way or the highway. “The rule is . . . Conform to our Woke imperialism, take our Woke Jab, or you will be scoffed at, mocked, and exiled”.
Show me what you conform to and I’ll show you your future.

The Fig Tree and Flashpoint
The day of the “triumphal” entry:
Jesus entered Jerusalem, went into the temple, and looked all around. It was already getting late, and he returned to Bethany with the twelve. (Mk. 11: 11)
The next day . . .
“. . . as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. From some distance away he saw a fig tree covered with leaves, and hoped to find fruit on it; but when he came up to it he found nothing but leaves (It wasn’t yet the season for figs.)
He addressed the tree directly. “May no one ever eat fruit from you again,” he said. And his disciples heard. (Mk. 11: 12-14)
We get a basic understanding of why Jesus is cursing the fig tree from Psalm 1 – those who follow the Lord produce fruit. Those who have the appearance of fruit producing -leaves – but do not bear fruit will be dealt with. Their superficial being is like the chaff that the wind drives away.
We get a pointed understanding from the Prophet Hosea. He describes how God initially thought of Israel . . . and then . . .
Like grapes in the wilderness,
I found Israel.
Like the first fruit on the fig tree,
in its first season,
I saw your ancestors.
But they came to Baal-peor,
and consecrated themselves to a thing of shame,
and became detestable like the thing they loved. (Hosea 9:10, emphasis mine)
During the time of the Second Temple, there were those, including priests, who had followed the advice of the wicked and taken the path that sinners trod (Ps. 1). They, like Israel before them, had laid waste my vines and ruined my fig trees. (Joel 1:6-7)
The cursing of the fig tree was a symbolic message to Israel and in particular to its priests: if you do not produce the spiritual fruit I ordained you to produce, you are to be cursed! For, as priests, rectors, rabbis, and ministers go, so go the people.
In direct opposition to their vocation to be a separate people and to be the fig tree that produced the fruit of righteousness, many Jews had conformed to the world around them. They had the appearance of bearing fruit – the leaves – but produced no fruit.
And so it was that many sat mocking the sacred space of the Temple as they sold their wares within its walls. Over time the Temple had become profaned by priests who had adopted the ways of the world. Jesus would not stand for that. He would drive the chaff from the Temple.
After the disciples heard Jesus curse the fig tree . . .
They came into Jerusalem. Jesus went into the Temple and began to drive out the traders, those who bought and sold in the Temple, and overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of the dove sellers. He permitted no one to carry a vessel through the Temple. He began to teach: Isn’t this what’s written,” he said,
‘My house shall be called
A house of prayer
For all the world to share’?
But you’ve made it a brigands’ den!” (Mark 11: 15-17)
The “afraid” governing authorities, the chief priests and legal experts – the chafing chaff, looked for a way to get rid of Jesus. (Mk. 11: 18) And then we read . . .
When evening came, they went back out of the city.
As they were returning, early in the morning, the saw the fig tree withered from its roots. (Mark 11:19-20)
Show me what you conform to and I’ll show you your future.

The regular Sunday afternoon phone calls to my mother ended just over a year ago. Mom passed last March.
Years before, my parents retired and moved a thousand miles away from Chicago. I called on Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. These phone conversations and the many others had an endearing sameness to them
When I called, Dad would pick up. He would ask “How’s things going? How’s work?” and then “Here’s mum”. Mom was the conversational one. She would ask “What’s up? Are you seeing anyone right now?” After I gave her the details – “Nothing new” – we talked about the weather. This went on until dad passed.
After dad’s passing, seven years before last March, my phone calls to mom began.
Mom, waiting anxiously, questioned me during the weekly “Mother’s Day” afternoon phone calls. “What are you doing with yourself? Are you behaving yourself? Are you following the Lord?” She had concerns about me since my earliest days. As the oldest, mom had to endure the unorthodox me the longest. She did so with steadfast love and unwavering prayer.
As mom neared the age of 91, our phone conversations lasted only a minute or two. I would ask her, as I did many times before, “How are you?” She’d reply, “Hanging in there.” On the Sunday afternoon of the day she passed, I called and asked again “How are you?” Mom, barely audible, answered “Hanging in there.” She then dropped the phone in her weakness. She would go to the Lord that evening.
With the passing of dad and then mom, I told my sister that I felt I had lost a fixed reference point in the universe – true north.

Each day, as the sun begins its daily round over the Chicago area, I take my long walk. The mix of Chicago weather keeps me guessing as to what to wear. The mix of exercise and endorphin release helps me deal with the stress created by the over 400 days of Illinois’ unconscionable mandates, restrictions and EOs.
I greet the people walking their dogs or jogging by. I say “Good morning” to the lady crossing guard who stops traffic to allow me to cross. But kids crossing the street or getting onto a school bus and going to school is rare these days. The tree-lined suburban neighborhoods I walk through are uncommonly quiet.
I walk primarily to think and pray. I never take a phone with me. I’d rather listen for the Lord. It was during a recent walk that I understood the Lord directing me to memorize Scripture once again.
During 5th and 6th grade I had memorized lots of Scripture. The Sunday School I was attending had a Scripture memory contest once a year. Students were given two pages of Scripture verses to memorize. On the day of the contest, we were to recite the text along with chapter and verse.
I don’t remember what I won but I do remember the scripture I memorized. Portions of it float to the top when I wade into praying and writing.
In the past two weeks I memorized Psalm 103. I printed the psalm and carried it with me on my walks. I rehearse the words two or three times during my walks.
Psalm 103 gives us Gods’ perspective:
For he knows how we were made;
he remembers that we are dust.
Psalm 103 tells us how God deals with us:
As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him
Psalm 103 adjures us . . .
do not forget all his benefits—
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the Pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good as long as you live
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s
Did you know that God’s “steadfast love” is mentioned four times in Psalm 103?
If you want to detoxify your mind of Progressivism’s profanations (e.g., “birthing parent”), then I recommend that you begin to take the word of God into the core of your being.

This Mother’s Day . . .
Let’s admit it. COVID is not a “public health” crisis. Over 99% of people recover from the COVID virus and do so with or without proven prophylactics/protocols such as Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin. An unproven “emergency use” vaccine is certainly not to be taken. It should never be given to our children, as Dr. Fauci, the man behind the Wuhan virus, and Big Pharma want to have happen.

You and I are inundated by narratives day and night. We are implored to spend our time, money, and allegiance in response to them. Their goads come at us through the mail, and via emails, radio, TV, and social media. Here are only a few of their associated rallying cries:
“Today Only!” “Act Now!” “Call Now!” “Last day to act!” “Crisis into opportunity!” “Doing nothing is not an option!” “Let’s get it done this year.” “We must move beyond climate talk to climate action.” . . . And there is, of course, The Great Reset’s pervasive “Build Back Better!” (bidding us to become the bricks and mortar of the Globalist’s Tower of Babel.)
The pressure to surrender and conform to narratives can be as manipulative as it is intense. The pressure is especially persuasive when a long-standing narrative fuels pressure to have a defining moment enacted. To wit, Palm Sunday and the so-called “triumphal entry”.
In terms of the gospel according to Mark, Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, though taking on a “triumphal” and precursive tone, was anti-climactic. There was no takeover, no ousting of Roman rule, and no fire coming down upon the unrighteous.
Jesus entered Jerusalem, went into the temple, and looked all around. It was already getting late, and he returned to Bethany with the twelve. (Mk. 11: 11)
Those who had lined the road up to Jerusalem and had shouted “Hosanna in the Highest” did so out of the highest hopes. Along with the palm branches, they held expectations of a “Messianic Apocalypse”:
. . . for the heavens and the earth will listen to His [God’s] messiah . . . [and all w]hich is in them shall not turn away from the commandments of the Holy Ones. Strengthen yourselves, O you who seek the Lord, in his service! Will you not find the Lord in this, all those who hope in their heart? . . .
These words, from the Qumran text 4Q521 dubbed “Messianic Apocalypse”, were written some 100 years before Jesus. I wonder. Did the people go home that night and ask each other “What’s up with that guy? Why doesn’t he get with the program?” They would have had their reasons for asking.
Second Temple period Jews were experiencing a cultural crisis. Under the rule of a Seleucid (Greek-Syrian) king named Antiochus IV Epiphanes (“god manifest”), that began in 175 BC, the Jews had been under tremendous pressure to conform to Hellenistic culture.
(Note: the apocalyptic visions recorded in the latter chapters of Daniel (7-12) were written in response to the ongoing Jewish persecutions (167-164 BCE) by Mr. “god manifest”. The chapters can be dated toward the end of the Maccabean revolt (see below).
Antiochus did all he could to push his cultural narrative onto the Jews. He plundered the temple, erected an altar for Zeus Olympus in the Jerusalem temple and sacrificed to Greek gods. Traditional practices of Judaism were outlawed.
Many Jews at that time were greatly concerned about the growing assimilation to Hellenism and its gods. While some Jews went along with the cultural change, others revolted against it.
The Maccabean revolt was the armed resistance. Mattathias, a priest, and his sons Judas Maccabeus, Jonathon, Simon, John, and Eleazar led the resistance. Under Simon, Judea and Jerusalem achieved political independence for a time – the yoke of the Gentiles was removed from Israel (1 Maccabees 13:41-42)
After purifying the temple of foreign elements, Simon led a procession of those playing musical instruments and hymn singers waving palm branches into the temple. This much abbreviated version of second temple times sets the stage for Palm Sunday. You get a feel for what the people were thinking about Jesus.
Jesus entered a Jerusalem under Roman rule. The accounts of the Maccabean revolt, Simon’s “triumphal entry”, and the Messianic Apocalypse stoked imaginations that day. The crowd wanted Jesus to be the fulfillment of their Messianic hopes.
Jesus had encountered similar pressure to conform to the long-standing narrative – the advent of the Messiah – several times before.
When Jesus began to teach his disciples something new – there’s big trouble in store for the son of man – Peter did not hear Jesus conforming to the ‘popular’ messiah narrative. Sure, there had been trouble before. But this? . . .
There’s big trouble in store for the son of man. The elders, the chief priests, and the scribes are going to reject him. He will be killed – and after three days he’ll be raised. He said this all quite explicitly. (Mk. 8: 31-32)
Moments before Jesus said this, Peter had boldly declared Jesus to be the Messiah (Mk. 8:29). Clinging to a notion of the messiah as a formidable political and spiritual power and projecting onto Jesus that notion, Peter rebuked Jesus for saying things that took the wind out of the narrative he and others had been floating.
Jesus forcefully replied to Peter’s cross purposes:
Get behind me, Accuser! You’re thinking human thoughts, not God’s thoughts.
The renunciation of man’s narrative brings to mind Mark 1: 13. There, we read that Jesus went into the desert for forty days and was tested by Satan’s narrative.
Satan wanted Jesus to be the Messiah – a compromised, self-promoting, and self-advancing Messiah. He wanted the Jesus to be the Messiah the people wanted and not the Messiah the people needed.
Jesus had a growing number of people following him. Why not take advantage of the populist surge and clean house and become a hero? As before, there would be processions honoring a conquering hero. “‘C’mon, fulfill your destiny!” “The time is ripe.” “Act now!” “Build back better!”
Good Friday and Easter. We find out Jesus’ Cross Purpose. We find out why, though dealing with enormous opposition, he did not surrender to the pressure or conform to narratives and to cross-purposes. We are admonished to carry on the same way by considering his example:
We must look ahead, to Jesus. He is the one who carved out the path for faith, and he’s the one who brought it to completion.
He knew that there was joy spread out and waiting for him. That’s why he endured the cross, making light of its shame, and now has taken his seat at the right hand of God’s throne. He put up with enormous opposition from sinners. Weigh up in your minds just how severe it was; then you won’t find yourselves getting weary and worn out. -Hebrews 12: 2-3
Next, we’ll look at the gospel record of Jesus countering narratives and settling debates using “God’s thoughts”. We’ll also take a look at conformity.

It didn’t take long. This morning I found the following YouTube notice (shown below as a screen capture). The “removed’ video was posted in Forcing Dysfunction on Sunday.
In the “removed” video, Dr. Carson spoke about the benefit of hydroxychloroquine as used by an African population – the people had a very low rate of COVID cases. He also spoke encouragingly of herd immunity.
Apparently, a site called YouTube is not about your narrative. It is about YouTube publishing a forcing function narrative on you.

You and I encounter false narratives throughout our lives. Such narratives may be innocuous, as in “The tooth fairy will give you a quarter for the tooth under your pillow.” Or, they may be conniving, as in Obama’s “You can keep your doctor”. We also encounter behavior-shaping constraints based on narratives.
Forcing functions based on safety are common place. For example, one cannot operate a microwave or a washing machine without closing the door. Another example would be the reverse lockout on the transmission of a moving auto. We take these forcing functions in stride without a concern about our freedom. They make sense. But what happens when behavior-shaping constraints based on a quasi-safety-quasi-science narrative are employed to compel one to act against one’s own freedom?
Common sense safety practices have been abrogated and with them our freedom. Like good little sheep we are now to obey barking mad “Public Health” forcing functions: “wear a mask” (or “two”), “stay home”, “restrict your business”, “limit your church gathering”, “don’t go near your grandparents”, “social distance”, “get the jab”, “get the vaccine passport” “Do what we say or we will deal with you”, “We will tell you when it is safe to come out.”
Tragically, we are being forced to do senseless anti-human anti-social anti-flourishing anti-science things in the name of “Public Health”. And if we don’t do them AND don’t empathize with the forcing functions employed, we will be shamed or fined or our lives unplugged in the name of “Public Health”.
Over the past year our rights have been tethered to the “Public Health Crisis” narrative. Those behind the narrative – Globalists – took advantage of the manufactured COVID crisis. They played on emotions – empathy and fear – to get people to submit to the narrative.
The American people had been prepped to submit to top-down control by the “we need nationalized healthcare” narrative. That socialist gambit has been pushed for several years now. So, when the “Public Health Crisis” came along many were ready to have government bureaucrats tell them what to do.
We could call the seizure of our livelihoods a “Marxist takeover”. But what has happened is more insidious than playing at Marxism. We are being forcing-function-ed into taking the deadly jab of fascism. Our lives, with our rights and property under the control of the Globalist Gatekeepers, will only continue with the proper papers – a vaccine passport for starters. Data collection of your life (social credit system) will determine if your “papers are in order”.
We are being driven into normalizing COVID mandates. We are being driven into normalizing fear. We are being driven into normalizing our submission to others whose narrative – The Revolution aka The Great RESET – we DO NOT share.
Do Not NORMALIZE and give credence to this insanity. You will go crazy. Do not become obsessed with germs. You will go crazy. Businesses and churches DO NOT normalize and give credence to masks, social distancing, and vaccine passports. DO NOT normalize dysfunction!
DO NOT kowtow to anything the “Public Health Crisis” narrative posits. Not even if you are told (lied to, actually) that things can return to normal once . . . maybe . . . well, . . .
Faustian Fauci, “the science” behind the Wuhan virus, when asked about the point of return to normalcy, answers with ambiguity. He remains in the media spotlight for just that reason – as a forcing function mechanism of dependence on “the science.” Put another way, Fauci “poka-yoke” appearances are a way of ensuring allegiance to “the science” without actually using science.
Things will not return to normal. This I know. For the “Public Health Crisis” narrative tells me so.
Over the past year we have been living under restrictions based on the false pandemic narrative. There is no pandemic. There is no “Public Health Crisis”. We have been lied to about case numbers. We have been lied to about the number of COVID deaths. (See my previous posts for details).
We are being told via every media source to “follow the science” and get the jab so we can return to normal. Don’t believe it. The father of lies is busy today.
Over and over again, Jesus countered false narratives with truth. He exposed the narrators and sent them reeling:
“You are the from your father the devil! And you’re eager to get on with what he wants. He was a murderer from the beginning, and he’s never remained in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells lies, he speaks what comes naturally to him, because he is a liar – in fact, he’s the father of lies!
Another false narrative promoted today: “America is systemically racist, ergo, racism is a Public Health Crisis”. Tomorrow, the false narrative will be “Climate change is a Public Health Crisis.” Next week, the false narrative will be “Guns are a Public Health Crisis.” The week after that, the false narrative will be “Christians are a Public Health Crisis.” With each false narrative will come the forcing functions to produce the outcome desired.
You and I, humans, are of no consequence to the Globalists. You and I are annoyance to be dealt with on their way to The Great Reset. You and I are seen by them as ants in their ant farm.

Who Says So?

As kids we preceded “Who Says So?” and “Who do you think you are?” with “Oh yeah!” “These questions weren’t posed to source a truth-bearing authority we would readily accept. Rather, they were a demand to know “Who thinks they can tell me what to do?”
The hands-on-the-hips stance has been around since the Garden of Eden. It became the posture of mankind after Adam and Eve accepted the serpent’s imperious challenge to God’s authority. The posture of the defiant adolescent is in vogue today.
By way of a prolonged adolescence – from playground to the political realm, say – the childhood attitude has remained the same: “Who thinks they can tell me what to do? The past holds no authority. Truth holds no authority. Only my power holds authority.”
And so it was that elected officials dismissed the U.S. Constitution as an afront to their dictatorial ways. The playground stance became Woodrow Wilson’s “living Constitution” posture under the ruse of “progress”:
All that progressives ask or desire is permission—in an era when “development,” “evolution,” is the scientific word—to interpret the Constitution according to the Darwinian principle; all they ask is recognition of the fact that a nation is a living thing and not a machine.
Owing to the same progressive posture, FDR bullied the Supreme Court into accepting his definition of the Constitution’s “commerce clause”. He was then able, with the tentacles of bureaucracy, to regulate and control the banks and the U.S. economy. This wasn’t crisis management. This was the elitist “Who thinks they can tell me what to do?” FDR taking over “we the people”.
FDR’s reign created a monstrous welfare state. With the government’s imposition of the “New Deal” and the National Recovery Act, millions became dependent – infantilized – under the government’s new parenting role. Later, FDR would take account of his “enlightened administration”. He would call government welfare “a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit”.
LBJ, an FDR lackey, adopted FDR’s imperious attitude. He extended the New Deal’s use of a big and more powerful government to overhaul society.
“The truth is, far from crushing the individual, government at its best liberates him from the enslaving forces of his environment.”
With the enslaving forces of government and apparently ignoring FDR’s admission of welfare’s dehumanizing effects, the imperious LBJ created the ruinous Great Deal: the “Great Society” and “War on Poverty.”
Within the same “nobody can tell me what to do” echo chamber of elitists, the haughty Barack Obama’ announced the “fundamental transformation” of America. This was to bring about Obama’s version of “hope and change” for us little people.
Remember Obama’s spiritual and ideological mentors Jeremiah Wright, Frank Marshall Davis, Bill Ayers and Saul Alinsky? Remember these bullies with the playground attitude “Who thinks they can tell me what to do? I tell you what to do.” They taught Obama to impose his will onto others for the sake of radical transformation.
Remember Obama’s despotic weaponization of government against naysayers? Remember Lois Lerner and the IRS targeting scandal? Remember the high and mighty Obama trashing America to foreign nations?
The almost inorganic “Oh yeah! Listen man!” Joe Biden and his regime, an Obama franchise, are “Building Back Better.” The regime wants $35 billion dollars to add 75,000 agents to further weaponize the IRS.
The regime is in the process of tossing the Constitution and creating a Woke “living constitution” form of government. This takeover of America will benefit most those in positions of power including globalists. You and I will have the Constitution ripped from our hands. We will be handed a “Here’s who says so” card. The European Union has already issued “permission” cards.
(The Biden regime’s focus on the WOKE religion of racialism will buy them votes. Biden and Progressives (FDR, LBJ and Woodrow Wilson among them) infer that black Americans are inferior and can’t function in society – whether in business or as a voter or in feeding and housing themselves – without them. Their solution is more of their “enlightened (Woke) administration” and less of the Constitution.
“Juneteenth” is Biden’s token gift – a refrigerator magnet – to black Americans. It also serves to keep America annually focused on racialism, BLM and CRT.
It appears that behind Anthony Fauci’s defense of himself on MSNBC as the embodiment of science – people’s attacks on him “are attacks on science” – is “Who do you think you are?”
Owing to a prolonged adolescence – from playground to philosophical realm, say – the religion of deconstructionism was born. Its tenets hold that there is no legitimacy or “Who says so?” authority in the world. This was the stance of the 60’s French deconstructionist Jacques Derrida.
The deconstructionist theory of textual analysis holds that a text has no stable reference. The theory questions traditional assumptions about identity, truth, certainty, and the ability of language to represent reality. Critics have rightly called deconstructionism a dangerous form of nihilism.
Due to a prolonged adolescence – from playground to popular culture, say – we hear “No one has the right to tell me what I can and can’t do except my political tribe.” The shutdown mind – no debate, no questioning, censored social media, etc. – is sold as the right thing to do.
Maintaining narcissist affirmation from an elitist’s perspective is the objective. Hence, the culture of repudiating and canceling anything that doesn’t conform to a narrative of empowered-self.
Just this morning I went shopping for groceries in a local super store. I passed the women’s clothes section. On the wall was a large ad photo of a large woman modeling some of the clothes being sold. The statement above her read “The maximum of self-love”.
The childish attitude of “Who thinks they can tell me what to do?” benefits no one. In fact, when it’s the posture of political overlords, philosopher-ideologues and the power-hungry, people are canceled, put through struggle sessions, de-platformed, blacklisted, killed, forced into labor camps or deported.
There are the willing who submit to a system that will not countenance disagreement. But minds that shut down to only accept the pablum given it by its tribal overseers will find that they have become infantilized. They will remain little children under the watchful eyes of the parent state.

A grown-up post-modern stance of questioning the source and legitimacy of assertions, is a welcome posture in any discipline. Science (including medical science Dr. Fauci!), philosophy and theology depend on inquiry. Questioning is a healthy stance when its objective is sourcing truth. Questioning is squashed for political ends or for the negation of truth.
Note: a key indicator of whether something is true or a lie: truth never manipulates or coerces one to accept it; lies and half-truths serve to manipulate and coerce. As humans, we want to live in truth and be respected for that desire. We do not want to be manipulated by ideologues, technocrats, and bureaucrats.
One last thing before I move on. By now you know that Progressives, like the willful children they are, believe they know everything and that you should know everything about them. That is why they walk around with the offended attitude “Who do you think you are?”
Progressives are not mortals. They are superior omniscient beings with “enlightened” WOKE morals. Not only do the WOKE know their own hearts and minds inside and out from constant reprogramming, they also know what is in another person’s heart and mind. Yes, they are mind readers and the ministers of “science” and “hope and change”. Progressive Jesuits come across as being more Christian than Christ with what they readily accept.
Out of their prolonged adolescence, Progressives, like the proud and stubborn children they remain, project onto others all kinds of intent.
Progressives condemn people on the spot. That is how they can call me, a white woman, a “racist”. That is how they can call the Founding Fathers “racist”. That is how they can say that any disagreement is an attack on them, the embodiment of “science”. That is how they can criticize people about their purported effect on climate change or about gun ownership or about any multitude of internalized offenses.
We have ‘progressed’ out of the post-modern age back to the age of Pontius Pilate: “Truth is what I say it is and don’t you forget it.”
It is no surprise that the mental health of the users of the narcissism-based narcotic of Progressivism has declined dramatically. Social media documents the decline.

The hands-on-the-hips stance has been around since the Garden of Eden. It has been used to stare down and de-platform anything that challenges a certain mindset. During the first century AD, Jesus encountered “Oh yeah! Who do you think you are?”
The gospel according to Mark reads as a response to that very question.
Mark opens the “good news of Jesus the Messiah, God’s son” with the authority of centuries-old Scripture. Words from prophets Isaiah and Malachi preface his account. (Note: Mark ascribes both texts to Isaiah, the more prominent author.)
Isaiah the prophet put it like this: “Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of me; he will clear a path for you.”
A shout goes up in the desert: “Make way for the Lord!” Clear a straight path for him!”
John the Baptizer is then presented as the one clearing the way for the Messiah – the Ultimate Authority. John tells his followers “Someone a lot stronger than me is coming close behind.”
Jesus is baptized by John in the river Jordan. The heavens open. The spirit in the form of a dove descends onto Jesus. A voice out of heaven says “You are my son! You are the one I love! You make me very glad.”
One would think that that event alone would suffice to qualify Jesus as the Ultimate Authority, but Mark continues to document the outworking of Jesus’ Ultimate Authority.
Jesus announces the kingdom of God (1: 15).
Jesus calls disciples (1:16-20).
Jesus teaches with authority in synagogue (1: 21-22).
Jesus casts out demons (1:23-27).
Jesus heals the sick (1:29-43).
Then (in chapter 2), a lame man is lowered through a roof to where Jesus is teaching. Religious legal experts were in the room. They were listening and waiting for Jesus to produce Messianic credentials.
Jesus tells the lame man to get up and that his sins are forgiven. (2:1-12) These shocking words blew the roof off of the expert’s thinking.
“How dare the fellow speak like this?! Only God forgives sins!” Who do you think you are?
The next thing the legal inquisitors find out is that this guy who forgives sins also eats with sinners. (2:16) What kind of Messiah is that? We don’t behave like that!
Mark records more hand-wringing by the religious authorities (3:1-5). Jesus heals a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath. This healing did not go over well – it was deemed as doing ‘work’ on the Sabbath. Jesus wasn’t “following the science”. So, Jesus had to be de-platformed:
“The Pharisees went out right away and began to plot with the Herodians against Jesus, trying to find a way to destroy him.”
Jesus continues to not “follow the science”. He “scolded the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! Shut Up!” The wind died down and there was flat calm.” (4:35-41)
Jesus touches the unclean. (5:25-32)
Mark records that Jesus sends out his disciples with his authority. (6: 7-13)
Jesus feeds 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish. (6:34-44)
Jesus walks on water. (6:47-51)
Jesus’ disciples eat with unwashed hands. (7: 1-15)
Jesus removes an unclean spirit from a child. (7:24-30)
Jesus feeds 4000 with 7 loaves and “a few small fish”. (8: 1-9)
Jesus heals a blind man. (8: 22-26)
Jesus is transfigured (his glory revealed) before Peter, James, and John. (9: 2-8)
Jesus casts out an unclean spirit from a boy. (9: 16-27)
Jesus teaches his disciples about authority. (9:35-49)
The first half of Mark’s gospel account documents Jesus’ ultimate authority over nature, diseases, evil spirits and the “follow the science” orthodoxy of his day.
In the second half of Mark’s “good news”, we read that Jesus had set his face toward Jerusalem. What awaited him there was not a triumphal entry nor a clear path. He would encounter soldiers, betrayal, an angry mob, Pontius Pilate, scourging, and crucifixion. It was intended punishment for not “following the science”.
Jesus was handed over to be questioned by the “Who do you think you are?”- “What is truth?”- “follow the science” authorities. They proceeded to ‘de-platform’ Jesus.
The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus revealed his authority over evil, sin and death. It also revealed his authority over man-made narratives. Jesus answered “Who says? with utter humility and self-denial. Jesus is the Ultimate Authority. Yet there are those, still with hands on hips, claiming to be the ultimate authority. Let’s see them do what Jesus did and prove it.
