Another on-the-scene reporter, Tim Caputo, pushed back on the term “riot” and blamed police presence for provoking violence. Demonstrators set cars on fire, hurled objects from a freeway overpass, and smashed LAPD headquarters windows.
Even with images of burning vehicles and protesters brawling with law enforcement, the media downplayed violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles calling them “fun” and “relatively peaceful.” The media is worse than distraction. The media is disinformation chaos.

In the current cultural milieu given to Marxist victim-oppressor ideology, taking pity on a snake, a lowly creature, can provide a feeling of dominance and power. It can also make the snake-pitier feel virtuous. Benevolence upon improper objects follows: take pity on snakes, say nothing of their bite, and virtue signal your empathy to the world.
It helps Progressive sensibilities that the deep state media doesn’t show the consequences of snake-pity and holds snake-pitiers innocent of any biting consequences and that social media “Likes” flow with snake-pity empathy, and there are handshakes after sermons that wrangle scripture to have it mean that bringing a snake home is a loving thing.
And why not. Doesn’t the Good Book tell us to love? Isn’t that the Jesus way? And isn’t that the Woodstock way e.g., “Love the one you’re with?” Isn’t that the abstract universalist platitude way, e.g., “All You Need is Love?” Isn’t that the sentimentalist way, e.g., “love is love?” Isn’t that the social justice way, e.g., “Love is picking winners and losers?”
Prudent people bestow their benevolence upon proper objects. Prudent people focus on ordering their loves and not on joining fools who take snakes to their bosom. Here, I address the latter group, Progressive Christians who misplace empathy and disorder their love.
Empathy that cedes wisdom and objective reality for acts of trendy “social justice”, love so disordered will come back to bite them and the ones they love and those who go on to live with the consequences of their ‘empathy’!
Should we prioritize the foreigner above our family, our community, and our church? Isn’t the well-being of those closest to us more important than the migrant pursuing opportunism by crossing the border illegally? (Many illegals wave the flag of the country they left behind.)
Oh, I forgot. Many SJWs ‘exist’ on social media and in pulpits but don’t live in the communities affected. Snake bites – the raping and killing and stealing and fentanyl deaths and the zapping of community resources – Deep State Media doesn’t mention consequences of snake pity. A state government using taxpayer dollars to pay for housing, medical, legal and other expenses for the invaders is not on your radar – yet. Empathy that results in rape, murder, harm, and loss to your family, your community, your church, and your country – that snake hasn’t bitten you yet.
The Progressive snake preys on the naïve, on the sentimental, on those lacking wisdom and discernment. Figures in Christianity have brought home that snake and its dangerous nature. The result: moral relativity; prioritizing political correctness over truth; prioritizing the foreign over the familiar, the stranger over kin; abstract humanitarianism over the concrete needs of one’s community; disordered ordo amoris.
Disordered love is the basis of much confusion and chaos and corruption today. Disordered love can result in political disarray, protests, cultural demise, and a moral relativity that abstracts reality to gain social credit.
The breakdown of ordo amoris (order of love) explains benevolence upon improper objects It explains bringing home a snake. You cannot claim to love “the world” if you harm those closest to you in the process. And closing one’s eyes to the consequences of mis-placed empathy isn’t loving.

Imagine you are invited to a symphony orchestra concert. The program features atonal music.
The music lacks a tonal center or key. It sounds off, as it does not conform to the ordered system of tonal hierarchies and harmonious structures that characterize classical music.
The vagueness and generality of the sound is annoying. Dissonant and jarring, it is characterized by disorder – pitches in new combinations and familiar pitch combinations in unfamiliar settings.

The new pope Leo XIV, the first Augustinian Pope, criticized J.D. Vance’s views on the Catholic teachings on caring for others, as well as President Trump’s immigration policies.
This past February, then-Cardinal Prevost challenged Vice President JD Vance on X, repeating a headline from The National Catholic Reporter: “JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn’t ask us to rank our love for others.”
I find such criticism rather strange and out of touch with the Order of St. Augustine that Prevost joined in 1977. The criticism sounds like Progressive politics that appropriates Jesus because it has no moral authority its own.
St. Augustine and Thomas Aquinas said that love must be ordered. One must love God first, then family, then nation. (The following summaries are from The Order of Love by Sean Ring. Document below.)
Augustine’s hierarchy of love can be summarized as:
God above all – The highest love is due to God, as He is the source of all good.
Self properly ordered – We must love ourselves rightly, seeking salvation and holiness rather than selfish pleasure.
Family and kin – Natural obligations to parents, spouses, and children take precedence over others.
Community and nation – A just love of one’s people and homeland follows from natural bonds.
Strangers and humanity at large – Charity extends to all, but not at the expense of higher obligations.
St. Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologica says that love should be given according to moral proximity, explaining that natural law thru justice and governance dictates a preference for those closest to us:
We owe special care to our families because they are an extension of ourselves.
The common good of a nation is more relevant than abstract global concerns.
Charity is universal, but obligations are graded, meaning the duty to kin and community is stronger than to distant strangers.
Ordo Amoris
Put God first – Moral order flows from divine truth.
Prioritize family and community – Nations and families are not arbitrary constructs but natural hierarchies of love.
Exercise prudent charity – Helping others should not come at the expense of justice or the destruction of one’s people.
Reject false universalism – Love for all does not mean an equal obligation to all.
Today’s education system is focused on a Marxist victim-oppressor ordering.
Christian education should focus on Ordo Amoris, the order of affections. Children must be taught the order of priorities: what is most important and what is least important. This isn’t to say a given item is bad, but that it’s not as high in our affection (or priority list) as something else.
Teaching that involves such wisdom and discernment would be a guide to relationships and moral obligations and a protection against the modern sentimentality that distorts true love.

The report, which the Department of Energy (DOE) completed in late December without any public announcement, says the Keystone XL project would have created between 16,149 and 59,000 jobs and would have had a positive economic impact of between $3.4-9.6 billion, citing various studies. A previous report from the federal government published in 2014 determined 3,900 direct jobs and 21,050 total jobs would be created during construction which was expected to take two years.
But immediately after taking office in January 2021, Biden canceled the pipeline’s permits, effectively shutting the project down. (Emphasis mine.)

Was Thomas L. Friedman never “more afraid for America’s future” then?
What about when transportation secretary Buttigieg had $7.5 billion at his disposal to install EV charging stations around the U.S. from the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure bill, but only managed to complete a few dozen projects. Where did money and jobs go?
President Trump has signed executive orders to boost the coal industry, which once was the backbone of the U.S. generating system. Despite coal’s ability to provide reliable baseload power, massive subsidies and state mandates have resulted in significant solar and wind power additions that are causing grid instability.To protect the grid and to help meet rising electricity demand from AI data centers, electric vehicles, and cryptocurrency, President Trump is using emergency powers to keep existing coal plants online. He is also reopening western lands to coal leasing, looking to name metallurgical coal as a critical mineral, and ordering the attorney general to investigate states that have implemented laws against fossil fuel use so that the federal government could waive those rules. (Emphasis mine.)
What should be obvious by now is that intermittent wind and solar power don’t meet the needs for baseload power – the minimum level of demand on an electrical grid over a span of time. Green energy options certainly will not meet the need for AI data centers. I favor clean nuclear power as do those behind the rise of AI.
Trump, by signing EOs to boost the coal industry, is keeping the lights on. He is working to grow industry, and preparing for the future job growth at home, not globally.
A week after boasting it had achieved 100% renewables energy power for the first time, Spain’s power grid suffered a crippling blackout, along with Portugal’s. Apparently, this was due to over-reliance on what are always fluctuating power sources vs. the base power that comes from fossil fuels, nuclear, or storage batteries. (Emphasis mine.)
Friedman is an open borders globalist and is well aware of coal pollution mitigation. He should criticize China (instead of pestering trump) for China’s enormous use of coal. The U.S. has 204 operational coal-powered plants that use coal pollution mitigation. China has 1,161 apparently without coal pollution mitigation.
Second Friedman: “This whole Trump II administration is a cruel farce. Trump ran for another term not because he had any clue how to transform America for the 21st century. He ran in order to stay out of jail and to get revenge on those who, with real evidence, had tried to hold him accountable to the law. I doubt he has ever spent five minutes studying the workforce of the future.”
Second Reply: This statement is beyond idiotic. It is demonstrably false and comes from a bitter bully.
Here, Freidman shows that he doesn’t have a clue about the historic economic boom of Trump’s first term.
Donald Trump achieved significant economic growth, creating nearly 4 million jobs and reducing the unemployment rate to its lowest in 50 years. He also implemented major tax reforms, including the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which provided substantial tax relief for middle-class families and businesses.
“Real evidence”? Another deep state media talking point that is an utter lie. The lawfare against Trump was all manufactured to keep him out of office. The lawsuits came about, then and now, because the deep state “normal” with its control of information and citizens was being affected, not for lawlessness.
After his first term, which was continually beset by attempts to render Trump and “Democracy!” ineffective, Trump, in his 70s, could have stayed home and enjoyed golf and avoided lawfare and two assassination attempts and all of the hassle.
Instead, like Cincinnatus, Trump returned from the feild to save the country from the managed decline “normal” that mealy-mouthed people like David Brooks and Thomas Freidman want to maintain.
Third Friedman: “By attacking our closest allies — Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea and the European Union — and our biggest rival, China, at the same time he makes clear he favors Russia over Ukraine and prefers climate-destroying energy industries over future-oriented ones, the planet be damned, Trump is triggering a serious loss of global confidence in America.”
Third Reply: Hyperbolic BS. “Attacking our closest allies”? A U.S. president should put the U.S. first, as do the nations mentioned above. The U.S., to advance America’s interests abroad, should not be a soft touch for anyone. The world is changing, away from globalist preening.
Trump favors peace not Ukraine or Russia. And, shouldn’t the U.S. pull Russia away from uniting with China? Shouldn’t we isolate China so the CCP falls under its own debt?
Perhaps Friedman is terrified because the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is calling for a long overdue overall of the State Dept.:

There are internal and external forces at work to destroy America. Trump and his administration are working to overturn the losses and managed decline of America and America’s own confidence in itself so weakened by nihilist cultural Marxists and grandiose globalist elites who invite in all kinds multicultural crap.
Fourth Freidman: “While Trump is doing his “weave” — rambling about whatever strikes him at the moment as good policy — China is weaving long-term plans.”
Fourth Reply: Yeah, China is “weaving long-term plans.” It’s called world domination. Trump and his administration know this. That is why the changes at the Panama Canal and that’s why the tariffs – to stop China from taking advantage of us.
The mission of the Committee on the Present Danger: China is to help defend America through public education and advocacy against the full array of conventional and non-conventional dangers posed by the People’s Republic of China. As with the Soviet Union in the past, Communist China represents an existential and ideological threat to the United States and to the idea of freedom—one that requires a new American consensus regarding the policies and priorities required to defeat this threat.
Americans would be more informed by listening to this series than by anything Thomas Freidman has to say.
Fifth Friedman: “But Trump’s constant bluster and his wild on-and-off imposition of tariffs are not a strategy — not when you are taking on China on the 10th anniversary of Made in China 2025. If Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent really believes what he foolishly said, that Beijing is just “playing with a pair of twos,” then somebody please let me know when it’s poker night at the White House, because I want to buy in. China has built an economic engine that gives it options.”
Fifth Reply: China has options because China has infiltrated the U.S. – its institutions, its land, its finances. China steals innovation from the U.S. and sends it home where it is replicated. Wall Street helps China steal America.

They have so far failed to mention President Trump’s directive, let alone its potential negative impact on the value of this foreign adversary’s corporation and its securities.

“Undermining the value of the dollar”?
Let’s start here. Biden’s Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen left the U.S. with $7 trillion in USTs due this year.
To service our national debt, our government must now offer Treasury Bills at a higher interest rate to attract buyers. The higher interest rate affects our entire economy from car payments to mortgages to credit cards. The mishandling of the U.S. economy by the elites our budgets are well aware of.
Some believe Donald Trump’s economic policies are designed to end the dollar’s role as the world’s reserve currency. Scott Bessent clears up such misinformation, affirming the dollar’s status as the reserve currency. In Trump’s Economic Revolution, we opined on the long-standing Bretton Woods Agreement that made the dollar the reserve currency and how Trump may be steering away from some of the “rules” that evolved since the agreement was signed in 1944.
The agreement and its unwritten rules are economically unsustainable. Trump is rightfully taking action to change them. However, that doesn’t mean he intends to change the dollar’s status as the reserve currency. As we summarized in the article mentioned above:
The dollar will likely remain the world’s reserve currency as no reasonable alternative exists. However, the unspoken agreements and promises surrounding the global economy may change drastically.
“Shredding any hope of national unity”? You mean like when Joe Biden called half the nation “extremists”? Did you rah-rah that, Thomas?

Far-left Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) is calling for mass demonstrations and mobilization with the intention to “punish” Republicans. The extreme language is being seen by some as a return to the violent political rhetoric that resulted in two assassination attempts on President Donald J. Trump last year.
A high school English teacher in Waterville, Maine identified as JoAnna St. Germain is being investigated by federal authorities officials after posting a series of extreme and disturbing messages on social media calling for violence against supporters of former President Donald Trump.
St. Germain doubled down on her comments, declaring, “I have zero shame about what I’ve said. I’m not backtracking a single thing. I believe Trump and every sycophant around him needs to die.” (Emphasis mine.)
The coastal and globalist elites expected to continue the overthrow of the U.S. and the enslavement of U.S. citizens and illegal immigrants to their dictates and policies so that full-blown communism would take hold.
“We need immigrants in this country,” Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler said Thursday during a House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement hearing. “Our vegetables would rot in the ground if they weren’t being picked by many immigrants — many illegal immigrants.”
[Jerry] Nadler’s remarks recall the Democratic party’s past reasoning for supporting slavery. Federalist Senior Editor Mark Hemingway pointed out that Democrats in 1823 were backing slavery because if there were no slaves, “Who would pick our cotton?” Today, Democrats are making the argument that low-wage working illegal migrants are necessary to pick “our vegetables.”
The Green New Deal and its accompanying legislation—the Inflation Reduction Act—have been based upon the belief that government agents can identify problems and impose solutions by directing resources through command-and-control. While their system gives a nod to prices and private ownership, at best, the organizational structure would resemble what came out of Italy and Germany in the 1930s, or Fascism. Profits and market prices don’t guide that system; indeed, the organizers of the GND and the IRA see profits and market prices as hindrances to their plans, for they represent the capitalist scourge of placing profits above people. . .
The Green New Deal has not failed because of a lack of political will or because government regulators were too good at their jobs. It failed because it is based upon a socialistic model of command-and-control akin to the former Soviet Union.
It’s time for a comprehensive national civic uprising. It’s time for Americans in universities, law, business, nonprofits and the scientific community, and civil servants and beyond to form one coordinated mass movement. Trump is about power. The only way he’s going to be stopped is if he’s confronted by some movement that possesses rival power.
So, David, to hell with democracy and all of the people who voted for Trump and for the lawful changes the Executive Branch is bringing about? Wasn’t it you – the Rachel Maddow-David French-Never Trump types – that told us over and over again that Trump would destroy democracy? But you and the Left are hoping to do that.
You and the Left wanted, by hook or by crook, Kamala Harris to be elected. She would be a sock puppet for the coastal and globalist elites to continue the plunder of our country and our democracy!
If you, the reader, are a partaker of Deep State media (MSNBC, CNN, NYT, WaPo, The Atlantic, etc.) you know the propagandists are roiled. Trump is called a “dictator”, “fascist”, “oligarch”, “Hitler”, “Nazi”, and “racist.”
Trump and his voters, you see, are beneath David and the elite ilk he panders to. His op-ed rallying cry is to unite the self-important – the true dictators, fascists, oligarchs, Hitlers, Nazis and racists of the elitist Left.
I’ve written often about how the Left seeks power above all else. The Left will grab power by any means necessary including stealing elections, creating hoaxes about political opponents and J6, and lawfare. David Brooks, in this NYT op-ed, is seeking to aggregate “rival power” to overthrow the current government (so as to return to the “normal” chaos and destruction the Left is known for, e.g., keeping MS-13 gang members in the U.S.)
It is quite revealing that this is the same power hungry and polarizing David Brooks who gave an interview titled How to Know a Person with David Brooks for the Progressive Trinity Forum (a site where Our Spiritual Betters of Never Trumper ilk gather).
The interview blurb reveals two-faced David:
“In a society where so many feel unseen and unknown, how do we become the kind of people who deeply see and know those around us? The conflict and division in our society demonstrate the need for people committed to pursuing human connection, even across lines of difference. What can we do – as individuals and in community – that will help us really understand the people in our lives?
“David Brooks, author of How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen, joined us to explore what it means to know others and to be known by them:
“When I ask people, tell me about a time you’ve been seen, they tell me with bright eyes and joy in their face, they tell me about time somebody totally got them. Because seeing someone, if I see potential in you, you’ll see potential in yourself. If I beam my attention on you, you’ll blossom. And so it’s just super powerful to feel seen. But it’s also powerful and fantastic to feel like you’re the seer.”
Well, we see you, David. You are David with Trump Derangement Syndrome, a condition that blinds you to all else except the need for power to get your way. You have not seen or known the people who voted for Trump, which is most of America. You live in a credentialed elite bubble. You know those therein, ergo the rallying cry to them and the deep state in the NYT.
Here’s David in the same op-ed not “seeing” Trump:
[Trumpism] is a multifront assault to make the earth a playground for ruthless men, so of course any institutions that might restrain power must be weakened or destroyed. Trumpism is about ego, appetite and acquisitiveness and is driven by a primal aversion to the higher elements of the human spirit — learning, compassion, scientific wonder, the pursuit of justice.
David wants us to know that he is on higher moral ground than Trump and the vast array of people who voted for Trump. David Our Better has an aversion to what he ‘sees’. So, what was decided on election night must be overturned by one coordinated mass movement.
Brook’s civil war-mongering column ends with a phrase originating from The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels: “We have nothing to lose but our chains.”
Is David worried that he will no longer be seen in the role of credentialed elite and as one of our betters telling us how to live and see and “blossom?”
Here, we really can see David and his worldview – antipathy to any rule but his own. He wants to overthrow the current government by any means necessary and conform America to his image using elitist chains.
We have witnessed the managed decline of our country the last four years -our country being despoiled by liberal elites whose vision of the world is them sitting atop it dictating to the little people and plundering them for more wealth and power.
We don’t need more alarmist rhetoric about “Democracy!” from the Left. We don’t need a revolution. We don’t need a Color revolution (Democrats Plan For Color Revolution) that is being pushed by the deep state media.
Like a petulant willful child who didn’t get his way, there is nothing of Christ in the words of David Brook. There is, markedly so, plenty of self-righteous contempt for those outside David’s “normal.”
Primordial disorder is the image presented at the opening of the creation account in Genesis. The earth, formless and empty (tohu wabohu), was completely covered by a deep (tehom) sea.
When God began to create the heavens and the earth, the earth was complete chaos, and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. – Genesis 1: 1-2
Earth’s oceanic outer layer undergoes a sea change when the Spirit of God’s hovers.
Psalm 104: 5-9 describes, in poetic form, the ordering of the watery chaos:
He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight; they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them. You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.
Reading on in Psalm 104 (v. 10-13) we find function. Channeled water provides the basic necessity for life on earth. Food growth follows.
Chaos Creatures Serve a Function
Once the chaotic waters of the primordial sea had been assigned functions, God, on the fifth day, created sea monsters, figures of menacing chaos (Gen. 1:21). Why bring order and then allow chaos creatures to exist? By God’s wisdom, we live in a world that has order, non-order, and disorder (See video below).
Mythical creatures from pagan myths, function in scripture as symbols of primordial chaos and opposition to God: sea-monsters, serpents, beasts, and dragons. Revelation presents them as fighting against God’s faithful witnesses who are working to restore order and bring God’s kingdom on earth.[i]
Sea Change Number Two
God created (gave functions to) the material cosmos over six days. Genesis 1 is a day-by-day account of establishing order from primordial disorder, establishing anthropic conditions and temple building. God pronounced each step in functional readiness “Good.” On the seventh day, he ‘rested’ in his temple to survey what had been done. The temple garden is a metaphor for the world.
Genesis 2. Mankind is placed in the temple garden and given instructions to maintain the good by God. But mankind goes off in a disordering direction. Evil and chaos ensues. God then acts to undo creation with the flood waters of chaos[ii] and to restore his “good” creation. Noah is the new caretaker.
Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So, God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. . .
I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. Genesis 6: 11-13, 17
Sea Change Recalled
One day, Jesus’ disciples wanted Jesus to notice the temple buildings. Jesus then foretold the destruction of the temple. The perplexed and anxious disciples asked “Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
Jesus goes on to speak of the signs of the end of the age. He then speaks about the necessity of watchfulness for, he tells them, no one knows the day or hour when end things will come to pass. To underscore this, he references a familiar story that involved a cataclysmic event that caught many unprepared.
For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so, too, will be the coming of the Son of Man. – Matthew 24:36-39
History Lesson About the Moral Universe
The apostle Peter, in his second letter, tells his readers that there are scoffers who are saying that things on this earth have always continued the way they are now. He reminds them that this is not true. The earth was different when it was created and it was different again after the flood. He warns them that no one should scoff that God will make it different once again, judging the godless not with water but with fire. (2 Peter 3)
Jesus’ second coming will be a sea change for all of creation. Chaos will be removed.
It is Time for a Sea Change
Peter warned his readers, with reference to the Great Flood, about what can be expected if they continue as they are. John the Seer, alluding to the Great Flood in Revelation, writes that it is time (in his prophetic timeline) “for destroying those who destroy the earth.” – Revelation 11:18
“The ‘destroyers of the earth’ are the powers of evil: the dragon, the beast, and the harlot of Babylon (who in [Rev.] 19:2 is said to have ‘corrupted – or destroyed – the earth with her fornication’). With their violence, oppression, and idolatrous religion they are ruining God’s creation. His faithfulness to his creation requires that he destroy them in order to preserve and deliver it from evil. . . This he did in the flood, which was a divine judgement aimed at delivering God’s creation from the ruinous violence of its inhabitants.”[iii]
John the Seer wrote Revelation in the context of the tyranny of the Roman Empire, the imperial cult, and a permissive and polytheistic culture. The apostle Paul, in the same setting, writes to a church with a more detailed description of the ruinous inhabitants of the earth and their similar fate:
Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, men who engage in illicit sex, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, swindlers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God. -1 Corinthians 6:9-10
I imagine that the proud, the perverse, the purposefully vague, the self-serving, and those who want to create a new humanity with demonic forces[iv] – any who plunder the created order for power, wealth and self-righteous ends will be met with divine judgement. Some will receive punishment that matches their sin (Rev. 16:8; 18:6; Rev. 22:18-19).
John the Seer prophesied about an end time involving a series of warning judgements to bring about repentance and the ultimate restoring of creation’s order from mankind’s reversion of it to chaos.
Final Sea Change
Scripture begins by telling an old story and ends by retelling the old story with a new and final outcome. Both narratives involve chaos and creation. The lynchpin of the two theological narratives – Genesis 1-11 and Revelation – and of history itself is the earthly, risen, and returning Jesus.
A final sea change occurs to restore creation. John the Seer writes:
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. –Rev. 21:1
Creation is not destroyed, just as it wasn’t with the Great Flood. Rather, creation’s corrupting influence is removed. Think in terms of no longer being overcome by evil but the overcoming of evil with good. Think in terms of “if anyone is in the Messiah, there is new creation! Old things have gone, and look – everything has become new!” (2 Cor. 5:17)
“The waters of the primeval abyss, that represent the source of destructive evil, the possibility of the reversion of creation to chaos, are finally no more.”[v]

Lent is a time for a sea change. It’s a time to remove chaos from your life.
This Lent appears to be the first time that corruption, misuse of funds, money laundering, excess, and disorder in the government are being shown the detox door. Hence, the weeping and gnashing of teeth in the MSM. Hence, destroyers of the earth want the chaos to continue as before.
A leviathan in Washington recently surfaced. The last four years of the Biden regime and the eight years of Obama have given us a eye-opening look at the direction and speed with which evil can overtake aspects of our lives. Evil tolerates no rivals, and certainly not the Risen and Conquering Christ that the prophecy of Revelation testifies about.

First century Christians, without newspapers and headlines, saw and heard about violence, oppression, and idolatries in the Roman Empire. Their world, like ours and Job’s, seemed arbitrarily mean, capricious and unfair.
These early Christians knew the enemies of God in terms of satanic forces invested in polytheism, the Roman empire’s tyranny, the imperial cult propaganda and the pressure to submit to it. And, there were those preaching another gospel other than the one they received from the apostles. The power of evil was all around them and they were looking for a divine rescue.
They were also likely aware of gospel accounts of Jesus exorcizing unclean spirits and plundering the strong man’s house (Mk 3:27). For them, awaiting Christ’s imminent return, these accounts prefigured a final victory over evil and the final realization of the kingdom of God on earth. Into that context at the end of the first century, seven struggling churches in a Roman province in Asia received a wake-up call, the letter of Revelation.
The letter begins by addressing issues in each church through a prophetic word. There’s critique of a church’s waywardness, its false teaching, its lethargy and compromises. And there are warnings to get each church on track to be victorious. The letter effectively summons each church to get involved in the divine war against evil and to conquer, conquer, conquer, conquer, conquer, conquer, conquer (Rev. 2:7; 2:11; 2:17; 2:28; 3:5; 3:12; 3:21).
How they are to conquer and what victory means is described in the rest of the letter. (Hint: conquering in Revelation has nothing to do with how the world conquers. And victory? There’s a promise that comes at the end of the letter referring to what was promised at the beginning of the letter to each church that conquers (Rev. 21:7).
You will want to read the whole of Revelation in one sitting to find out about Evil’s Last Grasp (cf. Gen. 3:15) and whether the three petitions of the Lord’s prayer are fulfilled. Is God’s name hallowed? Does his Kingdom come? Is God’s will done on earth as it is in heaven?
What would be the Final Headline and will you be one of those who were victorious over the beast? (Rev. 15:2)

If on the Left and a Progressive, you might agree with the fiery rhetoric of politicians Kamala Harris, AOC, Liz Warren, et al. pronouncing corporations and grocers as “price gouging greedy bastards” and that they need to be controlled. You would be OK with government intervention.
If on the Right and a conservative, then you would balk at “price controls” talk. You want the government to be hands off knowing that when government gets involved a great imbalance is thrown into the market. You understand that politicians do not know how to solve inflation. They just create more problems with their fixes’, including price fixing and price freezing.

It’s bad enough (terrible, really) that the U.S. Treasury and the Fed mess with the economy, making the rich richer, the rest of us poorer, and throwing our future up in the air with their ‘adjustments’.
Remember the 2007-2008 financial crisis. The Fed created the real estate bubble. By lowering interest rates to record lows it drove a huge increase in home prices as many jumped on board the balloon ride.
The home lending market “financialized” high-risk subprime mortgages to low-income homebuyers. Wall Street firms became heavily involved in collateral debt obligations (CDOs) and mortgage-backed securities (MBSs).
The housing boom in the early to mid-2000s became extremely unstable as interest rates increased on ARMs and housing prices began to fall. Many subprime borrowers began to default on their payments. As a result, financial institutions worldwide suffered severe damage. There was an international banking crisis. On September 15, 2008 the Wall Street brokerage firm Lehman Brothers sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The subprime mortgage crisis devastated financial markets and contributed to the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression. Read or see The Big Short for a sense of that economic disaster.
It’s not just the economic czars of the U.S. Treasury and Fed that screw things up. Congress not long ago passed spending bills with the Orwellian names “Cares Act” and “Inflation Reduction Act.” Both Acts have added to a massive deficit that is financed by the Fed’s creation of new money which increases the money supply and ergo inflation, the “price gouging” culprit that “price controls” would only exacerbate because nothing happens in isolation.
We don’t have inflation because the people are living too well. We have inflation because the government is living too well. -Ronald Reagan, during the 1980 presidential debate with Jimmy Carter.
Talk of “price controls” is nothing more than government avoiding accountability for its lack of spending control and its disruptive fiscal policies. And when you don’t understand that the seemingly complex and multitudinous causes of inflation boil down to too much money chasing too few goods and you are insulated from consequences, you continue the “price controls” rhetoric. You go on picking winners and losers.

I raise the “price controls” issue as a way to raise awareness as to how our lives, our monthly bills, are influenced by outside forces and to address an ominous scenario on the horizon: a dictated, regimented, and authoritarian economy is in the works to “price control” us into place.
Wherever you are on the spectrum of “price controls” – hearing what you want to hear or hearing alarm bells – be aware that The Great Reset’s Globalist policies are a monolithic version of Kamala’s “price controls.” They encompass not just how businesses do business (who to employ, for how much, social and environmental impact, etc.) but what is to be valued – by everyone.
Simply put, our ‘betters’ will determine who does what and why. They will “price control” our lives with their values. That Kamala mentioned “price controls” shows that she was signaling Big Brother intimidation – pressure on specific industries against specific price increases. This same bullying will be exponentially greater under The Great Reset globalist ‘economy’.
Under The Great Reset, we will be made to swallow an alphabet soup of “price control” values and the institutions producing them, including DEI, CRT, ESG, LGBTQ by the UN, WEF, and WHO.
We will be told to value safetyism and therefore to prioritize world health at all costs to our individual liberty, national sovereignty, common sense, and actual science. We will be made to value One Health.
Who can forget the COVID madness? Lockdowns, closed schools and churches, forced vaccines, families separated, businesses destroyed. All the COVID mandates were price controls. Government mandated value.
The World Health Organization is scrambling to push a “Pandemic Agreement (Treaty)” – a global health control agenda that will override U.S. sovereignty. The WHO wants unprecedented power to declare “health emergencies” whenever they choose. And that could mean forced vaccines, lockdowns, and sweeping mandates—all justified under the guise of a so-called “emergency” of whatever nature.
The WHO Pandemic Treaty would give these Global Elites the power to:
-Globally authorize untested vaccines and pandemic products, pressuring governments to purchase and enforce their use on you, your family, and your friends.
-Dictate when and where you can travel, what you can eat, whether you can gather for worship, and even what you’re allowed to say online.
-Strip away your country’s ability to decide how to respond to future health crises, putting these decisions into the hands of WHO bureaucrats who do not represent you.
Again, if you are on the Left, recent history shows that you were OK with Big Brother forcing people to wear masks, social distance, and be vaccinated. And, if people didn’t obey, you were OK with people losing their jobs, businesses being fined and shuttered, and the COVID-positive being sent off to quarantine camps.
People were to be isolated, given only food and some cleaning supplies. They would be banned from participating in any religious services. The plan included contingencies for preventing suicide. There were no provisions made for any legal appeals or even the right to legal counsel.
If you are on the Left, you believe in forced degrowth because of a “climate crisis.” You follow “the science” wherever it goes. You believe in censorship, and everything else that “price controls” people. A Karen on the Left ‘price controlled’ the life of Peanut the squirrel.
If you are on the Left, you are OK with the Globalist agenda of the UN, WEF, and the WHO. You are OK with tyranny being priced in to all you do.
If you are not on the Left and are an independent critical thinker and have expanded your personal bandwidth to include history, you are aware that there are those who, in the bubble of their superior intellectual, moral and humanitarian enlightenment, see themselves in a superior position to make choices for you and me. If they can elevate choices to an existential level (pandemic, climate, etc.) then they believe they have a right to do so. Tyranny will be priced in.
Will the Fed convert the U.S. Dollar to Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)? If so, it would be only a matter of time before CBDCs are linked to a global database controlled by the UN, IMF, the WHO, or God forbid, the WEF.
I write this to warn Christians about what is ahead. Stop looking for Signs of the End Times in the Mideast. Forget the “Rapture” and “Left Behind” fantasies. Get prepared for the onslaught of “price controls.” Christians will be put under immense pressure to conform to the imposed values. Know what you will do when that happens. President Biden raged against “Kill Tony” podcast host Tony Hinchcliffe’s joke about Puerto Rico being a “floating island of garbage” and suggested that was a good description for supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Biden’s remark, as it was understood by many on the right, mirrored Clinton’s infamous 2016 denunciation of Trump supporters as a “basket of deplorables,” a comment that Clinton later said she regretted and helped energize Trump’s base in the weeks before that election.
The safety and livelihood of women and girls have been increasingly threatened and encroached upon. Embarrassingly few government officials seem to really care, much less do anything about it – including the administration that’s currently propping up the sitting Vice President as the champion for change, despite her having done virtually nothing in the last four years. If this seems severe, it’s because we’re living in a dire situation that stands to get worse.
What was done to us by our government during the COVID crisis was deeply, morally wrong. It was more than wrong, it was evil. It violated virtually every previously established principle of medical ethics. ABC7 Los Angeles anchor Jory Rand described anti-ICE riots as “just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn,” minimizing the widespread violence and destruction in the city.
Another on-the-scene reporter, Tim Caputo, pushed back on the term “riot” and blamed police presence for provoking violence. Demonstrators set cars on fire, hurled objects from a freeway overpass, and smashed LAPD headquarters windows.
Even with images of burning vehicles and protesters brawling with law enforcement, the media downplayed violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles calling them “fun” and “relatively peaceful.” The media is worse than distraction. The media is disinformation chaos.

Klayman goes on to say, “There is, undoubtedly, foreign money involved probably from communist China, Iran and North Korea…”
Progressivism’s controlled-opposition David Brooks, self-described moderate and Christian, like others of his ilk – the David French-Russel Moore-Never Trump types – publishes hoity-toity prescriptions for how we should live, think, and vote. He tells us that Trump will destroy democracy and America. But how is the content of Brook’s screed any different than the Left’s by any means necessary and the ends justify the means?
