It’s Not Easy Being CO2

We learned this week that a truck driver, one who was so deeply affected by devastating climate change, drove a semi-trailer into a large crowd gathered in Nice France thereby demonstrating for all the world to see the efficacy of and need for climate alarmism. And while the truck driver was a humanity-challenged Muslim, it was the unstable climate in Nice France that had him so detached from reality.

The gods of egalitarianism will rejoice though.  There were equal outcomes for the eighty-four slaughtered by the climate change driven fanatic, a fanatic who, we are told by our “betters,” does not represent the religion that posits “Death to Infidels” as one of its core tenets. CO2 is the real killer here and it is an egalitarian killer!

Our “betters” have touted Scripture and “settled science” and scenarios of doom.  They tell us that the greatest threat to mankind is climate change.  After this past week, I guess they were right all along. What happened in Nice fits their CO2 narrative:

Making terrorism link, Obama says climate instability can lead to ‘dangerous’ ideology

Sanders doubles down: Climate change causes terrorism

If only we could gain control of our out-of-control climate. Then mankind wouldn’t be so unruly!

And here I thought climate forecasting is unreliable. Why just this morning the Weather Channel told me that there would be no rain in my area until later tonight. And lo and behold I look out my window and I see rain pouring down.  It is still raining as I write this. But, my “betters” must know something I don’t.  My eyes can deceive me. And my thoughts can be even worse than what my eyes perceive!  Under the effects of climate instability – OMG! – any type of thinking could lead to terrorism!

Hold on.  What’s this? Climate skepticism?

Let’s give CO2 its due:  CO2 Coalition

Juxtaposed! News ™ Hot Off the Wire – Climate Control

News Anchor: “Good evening.  I am Mary Summers and this is Juxtaposed! News ™ Hot Off the Wire.

We start tonight’s broadcast with a look at climate change.  Dudley Waters has our report from DC.”  Obama UN

Live Cam w/reporter:The Senate approved a $1.1 billion Zika virus spending bill. The Obama administration then directed that a half a billion dollars from the fund Congress set aside to deal with international infectious diseases be used to help fund a UN agency recently founded to fight climate change.  Here is Senator James Lankford to talk about the spending bill.”

Senator Lankford: Last week, the Senate passed legislation to address and prevent the spread of the Zika virus. However, the Senate failed to pay for it, and instead approved a $1.1 billion “emergency” spending supplemental bill that is not subject to the budgetary caps that were agreed to last year.

james-lankfordWhile congressional inattention to the budget crisis is inexcusable, it is even more disturbing that the Obama administration already has the authority to pay for a Zika response from existing agency budgets, but chose not to.

I’ve said several times on the Senate floor, over the last two weeks, that the Zika virus is a serious threat and should be dealt with responsibly by funding immediate vaccine research and aggressive mosquito population control.

The threat to adults from Zika is relatively small, but the threat to pre-born children is very high. Our national priority rightly focuses on protecting the life of these young children in the womb, since each child has value, no matter their age or size.”

Live Cam w/reporter: “Thank you Senator.  For more on climate change, here is Patsy Loggins.

Live Cam w/reporter: “Thanks Dudley WatersI am here in Jakarta where Secretary of State John Kerry just wrapped up his speech on climate change.  Here are some of his remarks.

Video: “When I think about the array of global climate – of global threats – think about this: terrorism, epidemics, poverty, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction – all challenges that know no borders – the reality is that climate change ranks right up there with every single one of them. This is not opinion. This is about facts. This is about science. The science is unequivocal. And those who refuse to believe it are simply burying their heads in the sand.”

Kerry went a step further with his assaults on climate change deniers, likening them to members of the Flat Earth Society, adding that “we should not allow a tiny minority of shoddy scientists and science and extreme ideologues to compete with scientific fact.”

“And let there be no doubt in anybody’s mind that the science is absolutely certain,” said Kerry. “It’s something that we understand with absolute assurance of the veracity of that science.”

Live Cam w/reporter: Kerry’s speech took on an alarming tone regarding Indonesia, which he called “one of the most vulnerable countries on Earth. Listen in.”john-kerry-indonesia

Video: “But I wanted to start right here, in Jakarta, because this city – this country – this region – is really on the front lines of climate change,” said Kerry. “It’s not an exaggeration to say to you that the entire way of life that you live and love is at risk.”

Live Cam w/reporter: “Back to you, Mary.”

News Anchor: “Thanks Patsy. After the break, an eyewitness account of one man calming the seas.

News Anchor: “Welcome back.  We turn now to a Juxtaposed! News exclusive: an eyewitness account of rising seas calmed by…we are ready to go to Shirley Goodness at the Sea of Galilee.

JesusCalmsSea1Live Cam w/reporter: “Thanks Mary.  I am by the Sea of Galilee waiting for Simon Peter.  Hold on he’s coming now.  Simon…catch your breath first.  Now Simon tell us what happened out there.

Simon Peter: “Yeah, well, I have this fishing business called UTrawl. Get the camera over here. My boat, she is a beauty!

Live Cam w/reporter: “Simon, can you tell our audience what happened last night?”

Simon Peter: “Sure, I…just wanted to…well, what happened was that we, I mean me and my buddies, spent the day listening to Jesus talk about his kingdom.  Jesus would say stuff like, “This is what God’s kingdom was like,” and then he would go on and tell a …what did you call it John, a meta..?”

John: (Leaning in to the camera) “A metaphor.”

Simon Peter: “That’s John. Can they see my boat?”

Live Cam w/reporter: “Yes Simon, what happened last night?”

Simon Peter: “Well, in the evening we were all kind of tired and Jesus said, “Let’s get in your boat, Peter,” -that’s the one right over there – and let’s go to the other side. Jesus was exhausted so he lay down on a boat cushion and fell asleep.

While he was sleeping me and the guys talked about what he had said that day.  You know, we never heard anyone talk like that before. I’ve heard a lot of fish tales in my time but this guy – I think he wrote the book about truth.

Anyway, I love being on the water at night, the air is so clean and my boat glides along in the breeze.  But then last night, Whew! a big windstorm came up just like that! Bam!  The waves were breaking in on us and my boat quickly began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping so soundly that he didn’t notice the water soaking his clothes.  We finally woke him up. We were…they were…a little frightened. You know, the others were going, “Teacher, we’re going to drown Don’t you care?” I just let them.”

Live Cam w/reporter: “Simon, weren’t you scared that you would lose everything, your business?

Simon: “I was scared for my business, of course.  But, I’ve seen so many storms in my time.  This storm, this one, this one was a doozy! I was starting to have a Jonah moment.”

Live Cam w/reporter: “What’s a Jonah moment?”

Simon: “A Jonah moment?  I’m sure your viewers have heard about the prophet Jonah.  No?  Well, Jonah is on a boat and a storm comes up and the crew are praying to God for mercy.  They want to throw “Jonah the jinx” overboard to settle with God.  So Jonah is thrown overboard and the seas calm down just like that. Snap!”

Live Cam w/reporter: “Did they throw you overboard last night?”

Simon: “NO!  But I saw them looking at me so I got Jesus up. And after Jesus got up, he rubbed his eyes and then looked at the storm and shouted, “Silence! Shut up!” Now, I have said some choice words to the weather in my time but what happened next…the wind died down just like that!  Bam! And there was flat calm. What happened was no meta…

John: (Leaning in to the camera) “Metaphor.”

Simon: “Yes, John, move back so they can see my boat.  Then Jesus turns to us and says, “Why are you scared? Don’t you believe yet? I think Jesus was calling us “deniers.”

I heard the other guys talking.  They were saying stuff like, “Who is this?” and “Even the wind and the sea do what he says!”JesusCalmsSea

Live Cam w/reporter: “Wow!  That is amazing! You must be happy to be alive!”

Simon: “I know the guys are. I am just happy that my baby didn’t sink in that storm.”

Live Cam w/reporter: “Anything you want to say before we go, Simon?”

Simon: “You don’t see this kind of thing every day but I saw this with my own eyes. Maybe someday I’ll … John is calling what happened a “sign.”  I call it “all in a day’s work for …what did Jesus call us John?”

John: (Leaning in to the camera) “Fishers of men.”

Live Cam w/reporter: “Back to you Mary.”

News Anchor: “Thanks Shirley. When we return we’ll hear about the possibility of Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the DOJ pursuing civil action against so-called climate change deniers.”

“Good evening.  From our National News Desk, our top story tonight…”kindergartner-suspended-bubble-soap-gun-b

“A 5-year-old girl was suspended from kindergarten on Monday for bringing a bubble gun, a popular plastic toy sold at stores across Colorado, to Southeast Elementary School.”

“The girl’s mother said she was shocked when she got a call from the school telling her she needed to pick up her daughter and take her home.”  “It blows bubbles,” she told Security News.

Live report: “The school is sticking to its guns, calling the toy a safety concern and a classroom distraction.  In a statement released by the school, the school noted its zero tolerance policy to ensure safety:

“The bringing of weapons, real or facsimile, to our schools by students can not only create a potential safety concern but also cause a distraction for our students in the learning process.””

“And in local news…”ross store

“A grown man in blue jeans and tee-shirt and with a five-o’clock shadow was not removed from Ross Clothing Store Monday for bringing himself into a woman’s and girl’s dressing room.”

Live report w/voiceover: “I was in the dressing room, when we heard a man’s voice,” said Lisa Stickles, who says she quickly told a manager.

“She went inside the dressing room, came right back out and called me to the side and told me… he was representing himself as a woman today,” Stickles said.

Reporter:   “A customer service representative with Ross would not comment on the alleged incident but said they do not discriminate against the transgender community; adding, customers may use changing rooms that apply to their gender identity.

Video: “What about me? Or my feelings?” said Sickles. “The manager told me that if I felt uncomfortable in the dressing room with him there… I’d have to wait until he’s finished.”

Reporter: “Sickles said she waited, and was shocked when she watched the man walk out.”

Video: “He was in no way dressed as a woman,” Sickles said. “He had on jeans, a t-shirt, 5 o’clock shadow, very deep voice. He was a man.”’

Authoritarians at the Gate

Obama finger gun

Authoritarian Fundamentalist

The honoring of power over reason is that which makes one an authoritarian.

For the Authoritarian, power is more important than laws. Laws become whatever Authoritarians impose on others.

Authoritarians are far more likely to exhibit “sloppy reasoning, highly-compartmentalized beliefs, double standards, hypocrisy, self-blindness, a profound ethnocentrism, and — to top it all off — a ferocious dogmatism that makes it unlikely anyone could ever change their minds with evidence or logic.” The Authoritarians, p75; Dr. Bob Altemeyer, University of Manitoba

Dr. Altemeyer proposes that Authoritarians are products of strict parenting, “strict fundamentalist parenting”.  His non-scientific proposal, used as a form of projection, targets Christians and Christian homes. But strict fundamentalism is native to the Authoritarians at the Gate.

These Authoritarians are the Ruling Class and their minions on steroids.  As such, they will lecture you to death with their Authoritarian Fundamentalism.

Consider the authoritarian lecturing of “the science is settled” and “you are a denier if you don’t agree with our confident knowledge.”  The “settled science” fundamentalists are dogmatic, believing that they have all knowledge.  So they will impose climate change on you.  In authoritarian Ruling Class minds, their might makes it “right.”

Truly, it is the “settled science” Authoritarian Fundamentalists who employ “sloppy reasoning, highly-compartmentalized beliefs, double standards, hypocrisy, self-blindness, a profound ethnocentrism, and — to top it all off — a ferocious dogmatism that makes it unlikely anyone could ever change their minds with evidence or logic.”

Consider also, the settled social science dogmatism of the teeny-tiny LGBTQ+ cabal.  These Authoritarian Fundamentalists demand that you submit to their belief system:   “We of LGBTQ+ convictions determine what is right and wrong. Christians should not.” “We have rights.” “Christian rights are to be subordinated to our rights.” “Christian convictions are too rigid, too fundamentalist.” And so again, we see the “highly-compartmentalized beliefs, double standards, hypocrisy, self-blindness,” and profound egocentrism that characterizes Authoritarian Fundamentalists.

To wit, recent Authoritarian Fundamentalism case history:

What On Earth Day Are You Doing?

What On Earth Day Are You Doing?

Well, I am reading climate change science fantasy…

Climate Change Is Killing People in Houston. Meanwhile, Texas Is Full of Climate Skeptics

And its redaction by truth…

Climate FAIL Files

A History of the Disastrous Global Warming Hoax

And…

I am wondering why my tax dollars are being sacrificed to Gaia (when I could plant more trees!) …  settled science 1

Obama Administration Disregards Congress, Gives $500 Million to U.N. Climate Fund

And, I am also becoming very concerned about authoritarianism…

Authoritarianism, always latent in progressivism, is becoming explicit. Progressivism’s determination to regulate thought by regulating speech is apparent in the campaign by 20 state attorneys general, none Republican, to criminalize skepticism about the supposedly “settled” conclusions of climate science.

Four core tenets of progressivism are: First, history has a destination. Second, progressives uniquely discern it. Third, politics should be democratic but peripheral to governance, which is the responsibility of experts scientifically administering the regulatory state. Fourth, enlightened progressives should enforce limits on speech to prevent thinking unhelpful to history’s progressive unfolding.  From New York Post’s Chilling Speech on Global Warming

And, I am meeting some of the cultists.  First…

Meet Bill Nye, The Anti-Science Guy

“I’ve never been a fan of Bill Nye “the Science Guy.” Partly it’s because I’m from a different generation. I grew up with Isaac Asimov and Carl Sagan as my introduction to science, and Nye always struck me as a cheap substitute. I find something condescending in his hyperkinetic manner, as if science couldn’t actually be interesting and exciting in its own right, as if it could only be interesting if the guy trying to explain it to us is bouncing off the walls. It all seems like Science for People with Attention Deficit Disorder. So you get travesties like Bill Nye supposedly explaining evolution using emojis. It’s as dumb as it sounds, which is a shame given how important the theory of evolution is.”  Robert Tracinski, senior writer at The Federalist.

Now, meet…

Bill Nye the Propaganda Guy

And, meet…  Bill Nye science

The Science Guy diminishes his nickname by resorting to scaremonger-y nuggets of easily dismissible ideologically-motivated nonsense

And meet, the Professor…

Professor Wants to Use RICO to Punish “Climate Change Deniers”

“Michael E. Kraft, professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, suggested in an op-ed in the Providence Journal on April 11 that the Department of Justice should use RICO statutes to punish “climate change deniers.””

And meet the Settled Science Inquisition…

Global Warming Thought Crimes

Attorney General Loretta Lynch has ‘considered taking legal action against climate change deniers’  settled science

Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse from Rhode Island “compared the climate change deniers to members of the tobacco industry – the advocates the Clinton administration won a racketeering case against.

Whitehouse said: ‘The similarities between the mischief of the tobacco industry pretending that the science of tobacco’s dangers was unsettled and the fossil fuel industry pretending that the science of carbon emissions’ dangers is unsettled has been remarked on widely, particularly by those who study the climate denial apparatus that the fossil fuel industry has erected.”

What On Earth Day Are You Doing?

If you are a Ruling Class climate change cultist, then you are likely on a fishing expedition:

Find the deniers near you—and call them out today.

What On Earth Day Are You Doing? I am reflecting on this article…

The Era of Authority (and of Strawmen and Strawlaw)

“The left still clings to this old view of themselves as bold free-thinkers who “question authority,” when they have long since set themselves up as the authorities everyone else is supposed to bow to.

By coincidence, I came across this at about the same time as a video of Bill Nye, the supposed “science guy,” taking a break from asking big and important questions like “What if the Earth were a cube instead of a ball?” and declaring that maybe global warming skeptics should be thrown in jail

But Nye isn’t just speculating about putting people in jail. He is referring to a specific attempt to use the model of those old tobacco lawsuits to prosecute any company that has ever funded research or advocacy skeptical of claims about global warming…

Bill Nye is just one entertainer, a third-rate popularizer of science. But he is totally representative of the real attitude of the left when it comes to authority. Their fundamental conviction is that the conscience of the individual must be forced to yield to the demands of the collective, as decided by the authorities who presume to speak for it.” (emphasis added) From Robert Tracinski’s article The Era of Authority.

What On Earth Day Are You Doing? I am reading the label…

The Curry letter: a word about “deniers”…

[Dr.] Judith Curry wrote “I reserve the word “deniers” for people that are explicitly associated with advocacy groups that are politicizing this issue…”

I reserve the word “deniers” for people that explicitly reject the history of Jewish extermination in wartime Germany.

When I see anyone legitimize the term “denier” in the context of this debate, an alarm bell goes off – “this is not a serious person”.

To do so is to commit an unforgivable devaluation of the historical relevance of the word “denier. It’s a rhetorical tactic unworthy of anyone who wants their scientific credibility to remain above reproach.

When the word “denier” first crawled out of the political slime, I fully expected those in science and media alike to reject it, vocally and without qualification.

Instead, it has become mainstream.

Small wonder that a great percentage of ordinary observers such as I begin to question that we haven’t been fed one big, fat lie after all. For the people propagating it have seemingly lost all sense of historical proportion.

Not to mention, curious double standard.

Outrageous buffoons like Al Gore zoom about the planet in private jets in the name of your “science”. The WWF travel agency zooms multi-millionaires around the world in private chartered jets in the name of your “science”.

When those who support the AGW position fail to categorically reject the “Al Gores” as spokespersons, fail to categorically reject activist scams, fail to categorically reject the use of unacceptable smears ….then, and only then, will you be able to hope for a restoration of confidence in what you do. You have a long road ahead.

You may know a lot about science. You understand precious little about public perception.”

What On Earth Day Are You Doing? I am enjoying the good earth, satisfied that there is no such thing as a Global Warming Crisis…

I’m Getting Over Sentimental, And You?

As we head into the New Year let’s take a moment to not look back…

Ah, yes.

Ah, yes.

 Sentimentality is that taskmaster which keeps us longing for the leeks and garlic of Egypt, the known-knowns of past life, up to and including slavery.

 Sentimentality is gate keeper to the past, fending off reality to preserve sugar-plum memories.

 Sentimentality serves as wooer, policy maker and candlestick maker, ergo, The Great Society (aka “Let’s help the little people and feel good about ourselves in the process”, affirmative action (see The Great Society for further social science mishaps), education (aka job-security for union workers), amnesty (aka imported votes for Progressive Democrats) and multiculturalism (aka “We promote “Diversity” here, just stay off my lawn and don’t get near my rights, you fools.”)

 Sentimentality, the emo that keeps on giving, will keep an angry woman ever angry; never forgiving. For her the past will be kept stewing, waiting for the next victim to be boiled alive.

 Sentimentality will fight fires by removing the oxygen from the room: “This is the way we have always done it.”

 Sentimentality is not tradition. It is more like unclaimed baggage that keeps going around on the airport turnstile day after day. You watch it to see if anyone claims it. If not it’s yours to drag around forever.

 Sentimentality chooses the moldy and crusty bread of the past over the fresh gluten free, sugar-free crackers of the present ala “This white bread reminds me of mom.”

 Sentimentality can be good wine turned into vinegar; old wineskins never replaced.

 Sentimentality is the troll who guards the bridge to the New Year. The troll demands a toll. (Just tell the little bugger, ”I paid years ago, be off with you or I’ll call my Father Time. He’ll kick your little troll butt!”)

 Sentimentality calls up past fears and dreams for advertised future benefits, benefits created at any cost to reality. See the Social Security trust fund. See the Barney Frank everyone-needs-a-house bubble machine that unleashed the Kraken upon world finances when the bubbles burst.

 Sentimentality wants to relive the civil rights and war protests of the sixties and invoke the depression era bindle-bums of the thirties. OWS Millennials ‘must’ ‘re-live’, record and recreate a diorama of those events from a BA degree in Identity Politics perspective. The grapes of wrath must be re-trampled. Social justice must be served with an order of the freshest iPhones.

 Sentimentality “keeps me hanging on” by a thread of delusion. “Marriage is secular, a right, a ‘love-in’.” Sentimentality says “I do” to whatever makes me feel… sentimental. And, sentimental makes me feel all gooey inside like…cable TV lovers.

 Sentimentality demands that Mother Earth be saved from manmade people while avoiding fact-see leftist Pope Francis for further encyclical faldera. Does the Pope realize that the Green Movement believes that overpopulation of the world is the problem? Does the Pope realize that he is actually promoting abortion, assisted-suicide and humanist population control?  (BTW: does the Pope even understand that capitalism fills the coffers of DisneyVatican?)  And, forget “Seasons in the Sun”. We may be facing an Inferno or an Ice Age depending on which way the inverted dated is put up on the overhead. ALGore Rhythm has predicted inverted hockey stick apocalyptic weather conditions to occur at any second now. And this, my friends, despite the fact that CO2 makes growing things…green! We are told by dogged Gaia loving-tenure-loving-paycheck-loving scientists that CO2 is not green ‘making’ ‘stuff’ when man is involved. Mankind only creates off-green “problems,” “problems” that are only resolvable with enormous sums of green taxpayer money. And, to increase our awareness of the right uses for CO2 the greenie bible Mother Earth News reportedly reports “green is god, dude, especially when rolled and smoked.” Anyway “It’s hard to die when all the birds are singing in the sky.”

 Sentimentality: a Disney movie replaying your childhood over and over. You know, the time you spent fantasizing about being princess as a young boy. Animated cels have always portrayed our deepest feelings, the best of our culture and the highest aspirations of our humanity-remember? Who needs reality when you have “Frost”?

 Sentimentality is that trampoline you keep in your back yard just in case you need to jump up and down endlessly to walk away from the back and forth of everyday life.

 Sentimentality gets an Enlightened Epicurean Scientism big bang out of a singular boson appearance but considers God’s silhouette passé.

 “A sentimentalist“, Oscar Wilde wrote, “is one who desires to have the luxury of an emotion without paying for it”.

 Use “Sentimentality” in a sentence/s: “I prefer my sentimentality over tradition, dudes. Tradition is so predictable whereas ad hoc sentimentality ushers in a new age of Progress as well as a proto-social justice that protests everything that isn’t sentimental.”

 Sentimentality as cultural entrenchment, as socio-political-economic-education policy-see Spoilt Rotten: The Toxic Cult of Sentimentality (subtitle in US editions: How Britain is Ruined by Its Children) by Theodore Dalrymple. Who could resist this book with chapter titles like these: Chapter Three: “The Family Impact Statement”, Chapter Four: “The Demand for Public Emotion”, Chapter Five: “The Cult of the Victim”, Chapter Six: “Make Poverty History!”

 Sentimentality-I could go on but, at this point, if I look back, I just might become sentimental. I won’t look back. Yes, there were good times but I keep those memories like a locket around my neck. And, don’t worry. Good memories have a way of making themselves known and sustaining you at the right time-that is if you create them first. (The Israelites used to create stone monuments as a place of remembrance where Jehovah had intervened. They did not carry the monument around with them. The thought that God is Infinite-Personal became a fixed place in their memory.)

 Taking sentimentality as a daily palliative pill will regurgitate acid reflux. Worse, making sentimentality your GroupThink Emo-a demand to relive all hurts whether real, perceived, projected or revived-leads to unresolved GroupThinkAnger and to “Stokely Carmichael’s idea that “before a group can enter open society, it must close ranks.”” And to the “Day of Rage” (’69, Cornell U) and to Black Panthers with billy clubs at polling places, to the NAACP, to the SPLC’s perverted “Hate-Watch”, to Al Sharpton, Eric Holder and their ilk.

 Looking back, as one who was told not to look back, did not work out well for Lot’s wife. She may have very well thought that God was like her-sentimental about what someone holds dear, in this case her life in Sodom. She may have very well thought that God would not destroy a place she called home. She got it wrong.

 A pillar of salt goes nowhere in life.

A pillar of the community!

A pillar of the community!

 ~~~~~
Who needs the shallowness of sentimentality when you can have full-bodied hope! And, I’m not talking about “Hope” as found in the “Hope and Change” campaign come-on that was used to lull Millennial lemmings to follow Obama over the cliffs of insanity.
 I am talking real hope. And, real hope includes distancing yourself from sentimentality and going forward with God into sublime reality, as the Apostle Paul described here in his letter to the Church at Rome (Chapter 4-5):
“…since we believe in the one who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was handed over because of our trespasses and raised because of our justification.
 The result is this: since we have been declared “in the right” on the basis of faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah. Through him we have been allowed to approach, by faith, into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate the hope of the glory of God.
That’s not all. We also celebrate in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces patience, patience produces a well-formed character, and a character like that produces hope.
Hope, in its turn, does not make us ashamed, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the holy spirit who has been given to us.” (emphasis mine)
It’s Not Easy Being Green Without CO2
Kermit sang it:
It’s not that easy being green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves
But green’s the color of Spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean, or important
Like a mountain, or tall like a tree…
“It’s not that easy being green” -especially without CO2.
“Nothing would be green around the world without CO2,” Rep Sensenbrenner, “CO2 is not a pollutant.”
 The two videos presented below are presentations given at the pre-2012 presidential election 7th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC7). The conference theme: “Real Science, Real Choices.”
 In the first video, Chris Horner (he is introduced in the video), lets it be known that “doing-the-right-thing” scarcity fear mongering is the only man-made element in the global warming issue. Also, that the EPA’s Lisa Jackson’s job destruction to create clean-up jobs – breaking things to fix things- is not all that it is cracked up to be. The net gain is equal to your brain on carbon monoxide.
 I truly appreciate U.S. Rep., WI 5th Congressional District, Jim Sensenbrenner’s candor and thorough knowledge of the politically discharged climate change propaganda that is polluting the airwaves of truth.
 If you are still a devotee of the global warming sect after listening to these videos then I have a catalytic converter to sell you. It is adjustable to fit your nose and comes with duct tape for your mouth to prevent ad hominem leakage-you know, cap and trade kinda stuff.
Less Than One Degree of Separation
  “I have been probing the arguments for global warming for well over a decade. In collaboration with a lot of excellent coauthors I have consistently found that when the layers get peeled back, what lies at the core is either flawed, misleading or simply non-existent.” Ross McKitrick, Financial Post
 What is posited as mankind’s greatest threat beside the obvious ~ Rosie O’Donnell returning to the View? “Climate Change!”
 “Climate Change!” is the Politically Correct non-Jeopardizing answer that will win you kudos, peer adulation and apparently enough money to buy a government-subsidized cable TV channel and then sell it to the Qatar owned pan-Arab Al Jazeera TV news network. The cross Current of “Climate Change” blows an ill wind.
 Now, we’ve both heard Barack Obama and John Kerry speak this most specious of claims again and again. The redundant talking point is meant to produce a Stockholm Syndrome like reaction from Obama’s political captives ~ the environmentalists and Millennials; basically, those who believe with all of their campfire roasted marshmallow hearts in a primordial earth filled with Kumbayah spirits.
 To indicate the thrall of such supplicants I will give you one recent personal example.
 About two weeks ago I was riding the Chicago Metra train to my downtown workplace. After a stop near the city several passengers boarded from an ‘uppity’ neighborhood near Chicago. Before we reach that stop I put my away my book, knowing that I will be standing in the train vestibule discussing whatever topic is broached among the three or four of us heading to Chicago.
 One day, right the out of the beautiful climate change blue, a forty-ish Oak Park man says that there are ad companies who will not do ad work for any company that is a “climate change” denier. He proudly let me know that he was all was for this sanctioning of companies based on “climate change” theory. I rolled my eyes but held my tongue.
 What I wanted to say: “Climate change has become a religion of radical Jihadist proportions ~ “submit to our belief system or die, you infidel.”
 The “settled science” of “climate change” is not even a joke. It is a bad joke and mere conjecture at best, if not an outright lie. It has quickly become the radicalized religion of the “goddess Gaia.”
 David Mamet said it much better in his book “The Secret Knowledge: On Dismantling of American Culture “(2011):
 Observe that to propitiate an unknowable power, the Left, ignorant or dismissive of any society or history but its own, insists upon the primacy of Trees and Soil, Oceans and Animals ~ theirs is a return to the worship of the Savage.  To see that this nature worship is not quite the good simple-heartedness they believe it is, but rather a religion, observe its imperviousness to information:  polar bears are not, in fact, decreasing but increasing in population; the earth is not, in fact, warming.
Here is a video of Dr. Ross McKitrick at Friends of Science speech (Canada) presenting graphs, charts, and an empirical approach to the IPCC report ‘bout climate.
 Of note: (19:40) “Challenge in the world of Climate Modeling”: “If things continue as they have been…something is fundamentally wrong with our climate models…” and, moments later, “climate models are too sensitive to CO2.”(20:39)
 Here is Ross McKitrick’s website. His background and several of his speeches are presented: Ross R. McKitrick
 If you were not able to sit through the video because you fear data or anything that would disrupt your belief in “climate change” then I offer one of his speeches in PDF form so that you can print it out and read it before the world ends from “climate change” overkill: “The Intrinsic Value of Nature And The Proper Stewardship of the Climate” (Shhh. Secret. The PDF explains the volcano video.)
 The speech begins with a quote from a World Wildlife Fund report headline: “Only global poverty can save the planet.” Malthus, mother Gaia is calling.
 McKitrick goes on to talk about the value of nature, the nature of value and the three zeitgeists of nature namely the “material,”” primal” and “functional”- theories of and approaches to nature. The speech is very accessible to anyone who wants to understand the thinking behind the hot-button issue of “climate change.” So, if you read nothing else, please read the speech.
 On the train to work I am reading N.T. Wright’s The Case for the Psalms. In the book’s “Afterword – My Life with the Psalms” N.T. reflects on his space, time and matter intersections with the Psalms. His words from one such intersection:
 “There was the time when I had been with people urging that we should regard the earth itself as “divine” – as the “goddess Gaia.” I felt oppressed, as though a thick and choking cloud were over my head, until the next day. The first psalm in church was 97” “YHWH is king! Let the earth rejoice.” I felt the cloud disappear as through a sudden fresh breeze: the earth is not divine, but it is the glorious creation of the true God and celebrates his kingdom arriving “on earth as in heaven.”
