Murdered because #BlackLivesMatter to Allah

Roots…

The “Hate your white neighbor, love your black heart” religion:

“Jeremiah Wright declares that the God he worships is the same as Allah, the God of the Muslims. At the same time, Wright is preaching that the God of the “slaver” and “oppressor” (read white society collectively) is a “different” God. That is, implying that white America and the white race collectively worship Satan, which is a tenet of Black Liberation Theology.

It is a theology which confronts white society as the racist Antichrist, communicating to the oppressor that nothing will be spared in the fight for freedom.”, quoted from “Black Theology and Black Power” by James H. Cone (1969), page 135.

Black Liberation Theology teaches the genocidal Black Nationalist cult concept that white society, America and the traditional Christian church are all part of the Antichrist system and the black man is the “manifestation of God on earth.” The uniqueness of the divinity of Jesus is denied. Jesus is a prototype that any man can potentially achieve. A revolutionary black messiah or messiahs will led the destruction of the Antichrist and his tool, the American constitutional republican system, in their scenario of the imminent end times and create a Utopia on earth, the biblical millennial kingdom on earth, which will be a physical kingdom, not a spiritual kingdom. This could be seen as the same, then, as the Muslim Caliphate, the earthly kingdom that the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda seek to establish.” (emphasis added)

“Evil Free Zones”

As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. Proverbs 27:19

Why would a Kingdom of God centered blog write about gun control? For the reason that the Spirit of Lawlessness pulls the trigger of a gun and also pulls on multiple political triggers in a Democracy.

For the reason that the Spirit of Lawlessness involves malignant narcissism which can be characterized by an unsubmitted will, the essence of lawlessness and the earmark of evil.

~~~
Within hours after the shooting in Roseburg Oregon at Umpqua Community College President Obama went to his shooting range (the bully pulpit) and began posting targets of the 2nd Amendment.
The president projected that we as a nation are making a political decision to support gun violence: “This is a political choice that we make to allow this to happen every few months in America.” He went on to say, again projecting, that we a nation have become “numbed” by these events, that “Somehow this has become routine”. And, what caught my attention even more so during his remarks, “We collectively are answerable to those families who lose their loved ones because of our inaction.” (I will not show any video of Obama. He is not worthy your time.)
No, President Obama, we are not collectively responsible for what happens. I am NOT responsible for the Fast and Furious “event” murder of a border patrol agent during your administration’s gun-running operation under DOJ Eric Holder (a program initially created to generate 2nd Amendment opposition in its wake). And, I am NOT responsible for the murder of American Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans by your State Department’s dereliction of duty.
An individual, whether it be Chris Mercer-Harper or Eric Holder or Hillary Clinton, is responsible for his own behavior and not the American people as regarded with your projected ennui. And, it is apparent that some of the electorate and some your administration (Lois Lerner, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, to name just a few) may be just as lawless as you are Mr. President with your disregard for immigration laws.
Trigger warning: Obama’s crass politicizing and professorial shaming of the nation from the bully pulpit is the “routine” that we have become accustomed to. He’s pulling on the emotional triggers of many.
Obama’s invocation of the use of a political process – our unwieldy Democracy – to create a pretense of public safety was decidedly meant to corral in-the-moment public concern, anger and even a rush-to-judgment conviction. And, as Obama stated, he “will politicize” this sad and heartfelt event and, therefore, seek to turn the emotional reactions into a bold-faced law. Yet, even a passionate pseudo-democratic plea for authorization to amend law and make us feel good in the moment can never effect moral change and remove the lawlessness in the hearts of men or from our society.
Obama’s rhetoric in much of his speeches uses a well-known Collective device called the Goldstein Effect” so as to align our focus with his. It’s a given: Obama and Schumer Democrats will project an incident of one evil gun user onto all gun owners. The  anti-gun mouth runners will provide the “Two Minutes Hate” directed at the object of their loathing-the person with a gun.
Whether its guns, money, land or your business, the Collective very much seeks to take away your private property. Your right to be a gun owner and your right to protect yourself is of no value to them. So, they entomb you and your children in a “Gun Free Zone” (and thereby making you totally dependent on LEOs that this administration will not defend).
And, what law/s would stop a Chris Mercer-Harper or an Eric Holder or a Hillary Clinton from doing what they want to do anyway? Lawlessness prevails in the hearts of some men, whether on the street or in the White House.
Instead of carte blanche additions of more useless gun laws and the correlated loss of freedom there should be a serious debate and reflection about underlying causes of gun violence. Sadly, the social media format is “routinely” hype, hyperbole and ad hominem and not a debate forum. And, Obama is social media all the time.
Something to think about from Matthew’s Gospel Chapter 26, vs. 50-52: In the garden of Gethsemane, when soldiers approached to take Jesus into custody and to the High Priest Caiaphas, a disciple pulled out his sword and cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant. Jesus said, “Put your sword back in its place.”
Jesus, at this point in time, knew that his “hour” had come and that he had to proceed without resisting. Prior to that time Jesus must have also known that Peter was carrying a sword in his belt. Jesus did not tell him to take off the sword and get rid of it. He knew the sword was in “its place.”
“Put your sword back to where it belongs!” Jesus said to the disciple, “People who use the sword die by the sword!”
With a group of possibly twelve centurions standing nearby waiting to arrest Jesus I would have no doubt that the soldiers, fully armored and carrying swords, knew exactly what Jesus meant. And what Jesus said may have been a common saying among the soldiers of that time.
The understanding I get from this passage is that if you live “by the sword”-with the understanding that conflicts, whether internal or external, are only resolved by violent means to an end-then those who do so will meet a violent end.
God’s Kingdom purposes are not accomplished through violence or the preceding unsubmitted will of those that created the conflict in the first place.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for theirs is the Kingdom of God.”
At some point Chris Harper-Mercer turned away from looking into spiritual truth and disengaged from it and reality, perhaps by spending extended amounts of time alone in a darkened room on 4chan or on some just as enthralling and dehumanizing internet site.
Harper-Mercer’s deed appears to be a reflection of his time spent alone and online and a growing sense of powerlessness that he was “encouraged’ online to reverse with force.
A quotation from his Facebook account simply read: “When all the pleasures of the world have diluted, the only thing left that is pure is power.”
Dr. M. Scott Peck author of People of the Lie: the Hope for Healing Human Evil wrote, “… the only power that Satan has is through human belief in its lies.” Therein advances the evil that we must confront and be free of.
The Moral Arithmetic of Lawlessness
Hearts of Darkness
~~~

Added: 10-4-2015

This astounding finding should be an integral part of the gun violence debate:

Robert Whitaker author of Anatomy of an Epidemic asks the question, here paraphrased…

Is there a correlation between the increase of prescribed psychotropic medications over the past twenty-five years and the current epidemic of disabling mental illness? He notes that the disabled mentally ill place a significant burden on society.

The Moral Arithmetic of Lawlessness

“He that is not governed by the moral arithmetic of the case, or who acts from a disposition directly at war with that arithmetic, is unjust. In other words, morality requires that we should be attentive only to the tendency which belongs to any action by the necessary and universal laws of existence. ” William Godwin (emphasis added)

From the “unconstrained vision” of a product of the Enlightenment, a lapsed Presbyterian minister and an atheist…

“William Godwin (3 March 1756 – 7 April 1836) an English journalist, political philosopher and novelist. He is considered one of the first exponents of utilitarianism, and the first modern proponent of anarchism.” Wikipedia

The morally ad hoc and utilitarian William Godwin authored “Enquiry Concerning Political Justice and its Influence on Morals and Happiness.” One of the chapters is entitled “The Characters of Men Originate in their External Circumstances”.

In Godwin’s writing we are told that in-the-moment utilitarian license to act guided by proper institutions surrounding us provide happiness. Proper institutions and proper sanctuaries of reason supposedly improve mankind’s felicity. So for Godwin and his latter-day Progressives, man’s unhappiness is a problem that needs solving by any means necessary and calculated by using the ‘new math’ of each man’s ad hoc reason-based morality. In effect, man is to be a god unto himself within the constraints of man-made institutions.

Per Godwin, Utilitarian Man must act from reason alone, adding and subtracting internally the merits of his actions. And, the sum of his actions must never equate to an external ‘impractical’ divine absolute. And then, somehow, good will come out of nowhere aka Utopia. Godwin’s moral arithmetic is basically the arithmetic of lawlessness within a rule-of-reason.

Now to the lawless and flippant…

“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said today that San Francisco’s sanctuary city policy had nothing to do with the murder of Kate Steinle.”

Really? Think before you talk, Nancy. What you are saying doesn’t add up to happiness for the family and friends of Kate Steinle.

Rep. Trey Gowdy’s Opening Statement at Sanctuary Cities Hearing, Judiciary Committee:

The Slaughter of the Innocents: Ramos and Liu; Pakistani Children

 “I think it’s time we stop, children, what’s that sound?
Everybody look what’s going down.”

  “It’s horrible that someone gets shot dead just for being a police officer,” Rafael Ramos’ son, Jaden, posted on Facebook.

 Flowers, candles, photos and written messages were placed outside of the station house in Brooklyn of two NYPD officers who were fatally shot while sitting in their marked cruiser. The family of one officer spoke at a vigil Sunday saying they forgive the shooter.

The darkness in men’s souls grows even darker.

To counter the darkness a Light came into the world. Christ was born.

“In him was life, and that life was the light for all mankind.”

Atheism thus was born. Atheists loved the darkness rather than the light.

Atheism rejected the world’s new King-the Word become flesh;

Atheism grew from its infancy into Darwinian Marxist materialism, evolving into Epicurean ‘Enlightened’ existentialist nihilism.

Atheism slaughters everyone in its path to maintain its will to power.

Atheism slaughters with star, with crescent and sword, with ovens and gulags, with enabling terrorist professors, with paid and unpaid protesters.

Atheism slaughters with Herod, Stalin and Pol Pot regimes. Atheism terrorizes with 65 year-old pony-tailed anarchists and union riff-raff.

Atheism enslaves with rulers who are a law unto themselves.

 The spirit of anti-Christ has been pervasive throughout our world, since the before the birth of Christ. You hear the sound of its revilement when…

Protesters yell “What do we want? Dead cops!” – anarchy and lawlessness must reign.

The Media exchanges good for “evil”, evil for “good”.

Amorphous slimy politicians and their front men hide their spiked tails and horns, play the narcissistic victim.

In the battle between good and evil, the Slaughter of the Innocents will continue….

Wisdom’s Rebuke, from the Book of Proverbs Chapter One;

20 Out in the open wisdom calls aloud,
    she raises her voice in the public square;
21 on top of the wall she cries out,
    at the city gate she makes her speech:

22 “How long will you who are simple love your simple ways?
    How long will mockers delight in mockery
    and fools hate knowledge?
23 Repent at my rebuke!
    Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
    I will make known to you my teachings.
24 But since you refuse to listen when I call
    and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand,
25 since you disregard all my advice
    and do not accept my rebuke,
26 I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you;
    I will mock when calamity overtakes you—
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
    when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
    when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
    they will look for me but will not find me,
29 since they hated knowledge
    and did not choose to fear the Lord.
30 Since they would not accept my advice
    and spurned my rebuke,
31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
    and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
    and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
    and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

The Deconstruction of America Along The “Do The Right Thing” Highway

decostruzione4-1How do I put this? Like a battered codependent wife who stays with her husband believing that he really does love her in his heart of hearts? Like a College Lit professor who embraces the Literary Critical Theories of Lacan, Derrida and Foucault and who, like Foucault, must, in true Marxist fashion, deconstruct each work of literature, each text, overturning every word to uncover some element of sexism, homophobia, racism or class injustice-looking for victims in all the wrong places? Or, as a dog returns to his vomit so a fool returns to his folly? I am trying to describe why America would vote a second time for Barack Obama to be president of the United States.

Of late, Barry and Michelle have worn their emo on their sleeves-the nation that has elected Barack Hussein Obama to be the FIRST BLACK president TWICE-has let him down-racially!

And, Michelle, poor dear, as first Lady she had helped a woman reach something high on a shelf. Michelle now complains that she felt she was being treated as just “the help” and not as the Oprah of Black women that she sees herself as. Lord Almighty! Poor BLACK OPPRESSED FIRST LADY! Racism is so insidious!

Yesterday, in Obama’s flippant and rambling Putin-worthy Laugh-In press conference the FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT invoked Jim Crow! Let me paraphrase: “The nation has improved with respect to race and class but has not improved with respect to race and class. The cops are out of control. Black men everywhere should not be restrained while committing a crime or shot when charging a police officer to overtake the officer. Rioters and looters–they are just the effect of bad police work. Me, I am in charge of a country that’s doin’ just fine economically. That was my last question, ladies.  I’m going on a two week vacation to Hawaii. Golf awaits.”

And, aren’t we are told hundreds of times by Professor Teleprompter that we must, in the words of the almighty BLACK ARTIST Spike Lee, “Do The Right Thing”

“We must do the right thing about” immigration, health care, sex-education, Iraq troop withdrawal, guns, jobs, fill-in-the leftist Christmas list and he’ll spiel it as “The “Right Thing.”

For one to do “The Right Thing” one must know what the right thing is to do. Well, Dear Leader has made it known that, like his predecessor Fidel Castro, only Obama knows what the right thing is. We are only the proles. Obama is professor First and Last Word.

~~~
A vote for Barack Obama was a vote for those like him-Pius Racial Animus the 1st AG Eric Holder, Puppeteer Valerie Jarrett, race hustler Al Sharpton, socialist Bill de blasio, et al.
A vote for Barack Obama was a vote for the deconstruction of America into nihilistic anarchy-a banana republic with dope, drugs and The Soullessness Train.
Your vote began the removal of our country’s Judeo-Christian cornerstone. Your vote is now replacing it with the mud of multiculturalism, multiculturalism which embraces radical Islam under the guise of religious freedom.
Your vote is a vote to discard the foundational U.S. Constitution and replace it with the quick sand of ad hoc moral relativism.
Your vote is currently demolishing the painstakingly built race relations meeting place.
Destruction of Ferguson
Destruction of Ferguson
Your vote installed the jobless rioters and looters and paid contractor anarchists into that meeting place.
We, the proles, are left within the dust storm and ashes with a president who thinks he can see more clearly than you, aka “Dreams From My Father.”
Let’s Clear the Record
Where to begin after the past week’s events? How about a headline like this?
“Gotham’s Mayor of Mayhem Bill de Blasio throws the NYPD under the bus! The Joker throws his card on the table.”
Wait! There is more. The op-ed page tells it like it is!
“Gotham’s Mayor speaks pseudo-conciliatory words meant to shame the ‘white privileged’…“Centuries of slavery””
BTW: it will seem like “centuries of slavery” under this Joker’s socialist chokehold. Welfare, as opposed to charity, becomes a form of slavery.
Now let’s hear from the best of America. Let’s hear what an African American, a man of considerable intellect and common sense has to say about “centuries of slavery” and the welfare state.
The Jokers and Lawlessness. They go together, hand and glove. But it is no joke…   joker
There is no doubt about it: lawlessness is the spirit of the anti-Christ. And, that spirit is at work within our country’s authority today, within our classrooms and within our neighborhoods. Wisdom has seen it coming and has warned us about it.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
    but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
~~~

“How long will you who are simple love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?”

 Lawlessness as promoted and enacted by a government authority, whether explicit or implied, whether by a mayor or an AG (Eric Holder’s Fast and Furious, IRS discrimination, etc.) or a President (Obama’s illegal and defiant amnesty fiat), done to satisfy political ends will inherently backfire.

Simply put, what goes around comes around. Ergo, witness rioters, looters and protesters protesting a lack of societal conformity by those in authority. These same protestors, though, never protest a lack of societal conformity on behalf society’s participants. Not only are they sectarian in their lawlessness. They are sectarian in their practice of ‘justice’. They want ‘fairness,” “egalitarianism,” “blind justice” and ‘restraint” for their defense but never as their motive.

What goes around comes around. Morphing on…

Let’s set the record straight. The current elected “radical transformation” leadership works out of a laboratory of lawlessness. They form mayhem out of human parts. They own the Frankenstein monsters they have built.

These monsters can’t breathe, they sometimes lay in the street and some stand in front of podiums and put their hands up.  Most of them are mindlessly looking for the nearest voting booth for another jolt to keep themselves going. The walking dead now roam the streets.

 ~~~~~~
As mentioned above, Wisdom saw the outcome of fools not “centuries of slavery” ago, but millennia ago.
From Wisdom’s rebuke found in the Word of God, The Book of Proverbs Chapter 1 v. 32-33:
For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.”
Evil Marches On. Good Will Stop To Help And Pray
You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.…”
Immigration Fiat Meet Multiculturalism or Don’t Pass the Fiat Fondue Melting Pot
Remember when your parents said, “Eat your supper, eat your peas or go to your room without supper.”?  no peas
 That is the Eat-Your-Supper-Fiat. Whether you liked the food or not your were required to eat whatever was set before you because, “I said so.” You were offered two choices:  “accept what I am demanding of you or face the consequences of not obeying me.”
 As adults, as voting adults, as voting adults with representatives we are now told by Dear Leader Obama that we must swallow his Executive Fiat without representation. And, we must also accept the consequences of not loving him with supine obedience:  a renunciation of the U.S. Constitution and a negation of our elected representatives.
 And here’s the excuse for just such a demand: there are “poor little children from other countries torn from their families, who do not have a regular meal to eat.” Sob. Sob. Sniffle. Sniffle. “Shame on you, taxpayers! You did not obey my commands!”
 How these children were torn from their families and became hungry is another story involving crossing our sovereign border and avoiding immigration authorities. They snuck into our country illegally in hopes of demanding to be fed and taken care of by U.S. taxpayer money as in “Illegal immigrants to be eligible for Social Security, Medicare”  BTW: They are illegal immigrants and not ‘undocumented” travelers on the road of life.
 Now that the ‘dinner’ has been served sitting in front of us is a smorgasbord multinational characters, some who may be Jihadists, felons, drug dealers, gang members, diseased and most certainly impoverished. Yet, we are informed by IL-Rep Luis Gutierrez that we the voters are uninformed children in need of Dear Leader’s guidance. Remember, we are the “stupid voters” ala Jon Gruber. We are not supposed to care what we are fed as long as “Change” is on the menu.
The Dear Reverend Hussein Obama has also blessed the meal. He used Holy Scripture to endorse his lawlessness and to promote his legacy of “Me, Myself and I”. The spirit of anti-Christ is crouching, ready to devour.
The Gospel-according-to-Progressive George Soros funded Illinois Voices For Immigration Deformity has also blessed the meal with their alliterative babble” “Bibles, Badges, Business.” They forgot to add “and Balkanization to boot.” Their “Call to Action” is the new Evangelical Gospel of antinomianism.
 Now that Dear Leader has served us his self made whipped up fiat fondue we are told to eat and like it: “If you don’t eat what I am serving, you can’t have any pudding, how can you have any pudding if you don’t eat what I am serving!” But there is more to this fiat force feeding than meets the throat.
Multiculturalism and Immigration Fiat now meet face to face-a few million times over.
 Forced multiculturalism, whether as found in England or Germany or France hasn’t worked out well. Many immigrants do not share the same values as their host country. In fact, the immigrants often isolate themselves into their own cultural collectives. And, the radical Islamists currently crossing our border make no distinction between church and state. They want us to be under their Sharia law. They will kill us to make this happen.
In The New Criterion article by Roger Kimball titled “Institutionalizing our demise: America vs. multiculturalism”, Kimball mentions a book by the Harvard political scientist Samuel Huntington
“Who Are We? The Challenges to America’s National Identity” (2004), Kimball writes:
“Does it,” Huntington asks, “take an Osama bin Laden … to make us realize that we are Americans? If we do not experience recurring destructive attacks, will we return to the fragmentation and eroded Americanism before September 11?”…
Multiculturalism is a moral intoxicant; its thrill centers around the emotion of superior virtue; its hangover subsists on a diet of nescience and blighted “good intentions.”
Wherever the imperatives of multiculturalism have touched the curriculum, they have left broad swaths of anti-Western attitudinizing competing for attention with quite astonishing historical blindness. Courses on minorities, women’s issues, the Third World proliferate; the teaching of mainstream history slides into oblivion. “The mood,” Arthur Schlesinger wrote in The Disuniting of America (1992), his excellent book on the depredations of multiculturalism, “is one of divesting Americans of the sinful European inheritance and seeking redemptive infusions from non-Western cultures.”
A profound ignorance of the milestones of American culture is one predictable result of this mood.”
Let it be known that Our Dear Leader, Supreme Professor of Cultural-Legal-Social-Economic-Self-Aggrandizement Studies, has enslaved us to Multiculturalism. His doting bureaucrats will feed his new slaves from the fiat fondue melting pot, a pot laced with every form of human depravity known to man.
Dear Leader, in his great wisdom, has purposely created this ad hoc toxic milieu so as to dilute America’s melting pot with third world values. Progressive dictatorships feed off of this pot.
Equally as important to Dear Leader is creating millions of worshippers of Progressivism’s cult combine of language, morally relative values, lowest common denominator culture, Gaia-incensed global-warming and the rule of ad hoc law.
Dear Leader wants to amass voters who are submissive, “stupid” and obedient. And, like him, they must not care that there are laws to obey or boundaries to be wary of, or red lines to never cross. The illegal immigrants are to be his hapless ‘victims,’ Dear Leader is to be their Savior and America (always the oppressor in his anti-colonialism zeitgeist) will now submit to him. We are to be his colony of worker bees.
For the ‘victims’ there is to be the 1%’s pot of gold to be had and a third world free-for-all party to attend. “Go ahead. Break the law. Just don’t get caught. But if you do, we have liberal–minded judges who will ‘figure’ it out for you at the time. Remember, laws are meaningless under ‘social justice.”
How else can the Democrat/Progressive party survive? Only by mandating desperate, “stupid” and lawless voters out from shadowy existence and thrusting them into ‘daylight’ of the voting booth. That is how the Progressive Party survives. That is how illegal immigrants will be used. And, that is why Hillary Clinton nods her approval while awaiting her throne.
Here, the Rev. Robert A. Sirico speaks to the issue of Multiculturalism and the fact that all cultures are not equal:
And, Thomas Sowell, as well, about multiculturalism, affirmative action and the minimum wage, all of which comes into play with millions more people entering the country willy-nilly:
Lest anyone think that I am not being Christian enough, insensitive to the plight of others and a bigot in my opinion post above, let me summarize my own situation and realign your thinking.
  I am a Christian woman who lives in an apartment building, not an ivory tower. Above me lives a Hispanic family. Below me lives another Hispanic family. Across the hall from me is a single black woman with her son.
 The apartment buildings surrounding me are filled with a majority of Hispanics, some black Americans and some white Americans.
 The apartment building complex south of me is occupied mostly with Hispanics, with some black Americans and some white Americans.
Reader, can you say that about where you live?
 Mi amiga, Veronica, works in the food service cafeteria where I work.
 I have no problema with Hispanics or with legal immigrants. I do have a big problem with Obama’s edict and the illegal process he used and coercive multiculturalism.
 Obama Shoves Legislative Process Down Capitol Steps
America’s ‘DeValued’ Moral Currency
Pervasive throughout our land is the avoidance of asking the hard questions.  We shun the real questions about life and death and about God.  We do not want to talk “good and evil.”  We glibly talk about body and soul, about reason and revelation, about eternity and time.
 The other day I happened to watch The Lord of the Rings (LTR):  The Return of the King.  Putting the above statement into LTR terms, we want to live peaceably in the shire without ever having to venture out and deal with the Ring, a Ring which has consequential power over us. We may say to ourselves, “Why destroy the ring when we don’t know for sure it exists? We may have thoughts that all that the shire presents to us is all there is to life. We will go on with our quietude in order to avoid conflict and to live peaceably. We choose society’s ‘safe’ surroundings and its costly ‘insurance’ policies to avoid the dangerous quest that truth demands of us. We fear what it might take to make the journey.  We fear we will lose ourselves on the way and never return to the shire. We fear, we fear and we fear again.
   We fear conflict.  And this is because inherent in conflict are the morals or ethics that each of the disparate parties brings with them. Conflict is the evil we most want to avoid.  Our “dialectics” begin with opposites and often end in synthesis or in the exclusion (or boycott) of the ‘other’.  We will seek out the ‘no-fault divorce’ of our language from its historical meaning. We give a pass to “Political-Correctness” (PC) because PC talk bypasses truth and goes straight to a word originally devoid of any value in and of itself but now given full political power: “diversity.”
With the acceptance of “diversity,” also a code-word for “whatever” or “it-depends,” moral relativity’s child, lawlessness, increasingly becomes a de facto way to govern and self-govern. Yet, “Wisdom shouts in the street, She lifts her voice in the square; At the head of the noisy streets she cries out; At the entrance of the gates in the city She utters her sayings…”
As we go on and find more and more moral conflicts and in order to avoid angst we find it easier to believe nothing of import so that we do not have to fear disagreement, ostracism or even death for what one believes. And because we do not believe in anything then we cannot be responsible for outcomes. Nihilism’s union with materialism begets the DNA of nihilism – lives drained of any meaning other than the moment. In fact, we are told duplicitously “to live in the moment.”
 To choose to believe nothing means that absolute truth is discharged from our lives.  Its voice is no longer heeded.  In fact its voice is now being drowned out.  The commotion that you hear daily is man’s raucous resistance to leaving the shire ~ his tweeting and texting of empty words, the ever streaming pop/rock music filling the void, the Surround sound of ubiquitous blaring entertainment.  It is as if men and women were walking around in the dark calling out to each other and never finding the light switch. They have chosen to stay in the purgatory of their fears.
 The avoidance of pain and conflict has become our primary goal in life.  This is seen in the young voter’s desire for Obamacare.  The health care reform is seen by them as in line with their “values”.  The reform is also seen as providing a sense of self-esteem in that it affirms the young voters wish to avoid pain and insecurity at all costs. On the surface Obamacare appears to provide security for themselves and for others while in truth it is a compromise of what is good and what is evil – the good being the desire for your well-being and the well-being of others and the evil which is the lie that Obama and the government will somehow provide self-esteem and security for you and others and do it with altruism. Remember, God has now been replaced by social science, social science based on rationalism and egalitarianism (think John Rawls, Laurence Tribe, etc.) all under the banner of “Social Justice.”  Rationalism’s,’ “Social Justice” trumps God every time.  Social science is now becoming the creator of society’s values, e.g., God is not to be talked about in public but homosexuality must be.  All of this in spite of the fact that rationalism without revelation could never create value. As Benedict XVI said in 1969:
“What is essential is that reason shut in on itself does not remain reasonable or rational, just as the state that aims at being perfect becomes tyrannical. Reason needs revelation in order to be able to be effective as reason.”
 The avoidance of truth with its inherent conflicts with other than the truth affects our relationships, our sexuality, our creativity, our culture. In place of absolute truth Americans, as mentioned, have latched on to “values.” And our new “value” system has a new way of talking:  “lifestyle”, “Be Yourself;” “Be original;” “Let go and be;”  diversity;” “I have my rights.” But now “rights” are no longer the natural inalienable God-given rights “of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”  Now “rights” have morphed into feelings worn on our sleeve.  We demand that others accept what we feel and that others be open and tolerant. This is what we value above all else. Right and wrong (and love (read not sex)) no longer have a place in our psyche. “Values” – a synthesis of good and evil dominates our diseased culture. And when we ignore serious questions we create words with synthetic meanings to describe our lives.
 “Charisma” is one of those words often heard today. Charisma was once considered a God-given grace but has been used as cover for the “banality of evil” as Hannah Arendt, political philosopher, notes when talking about Hitler’s appeal.
  Allan Bloom, another political philosopher, notes in his 1987 book The Closing of the American MindHow Higher Education Has failed Democracy and Impoverished the Souls of Today’s Students,Charisma both justifies leaders and excuses followers.  The very word gives a positive twist to rabble-rousing qualities and activities treated as negative in our constitutional tradition.  And it s vagueness makes it a tool for frauds and advertising men adept at manipulating images.” Consider that both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have both been called charismatic leaders.
 In the introduction to his book, Bloom writes about what he sees in the classrooms of higher education:
“There is one thing a professor can be absolutely certain of:  almost every student entering the university believes, or says he believes that truth is relative….They are unified only in their relativism and their allegiance to equality….They have been equipped with this framework early on, and it is the modern replacement for the inalienable rights that used to be the traditional American grounds for a free society…The danger they have been taught to fear from absolutism is not error but intolerance.  Relativism is necessary to openness; and this is virtue, the only virtue, which all primary education for more than fifty years has dedicated itself to inculcating.  Openness ~ and the relativism that makes it only plausible stance in the face of various claims to truth and various ways of life and kinds of human beings ~ is the great insight of our times. The true believer is the real danger.  The study of history and culture teaches that all the world was mad in the past; men always thought they were right, and that led to wars, persecutions, slavery, xenophobia, racism, and chauvinism.  The point (now) is not to correct the mistakes and really be right; rather it is not to think you are right at all.”  (emphasis mine)
  In a later chapter titled The German Connection, Bloom relates how Nietzsche, Heidegger, Hegel, Weber, Freud have influenced American thinking.  Americans, within a “pro-choice” democracy, have assimilated this German thinking sometimes turning it on its head.   Bloom writes,
“…there is now an entirely new language of good and evil, originating in an attempt to get “beyond good and evil” and preventing us from talking with any conviction about good and evil anymore.  Even those who deplore our current moral condition do so in the very language that exemplifies that condition.”
“The new language is that of value relativism and it constitutes a change in our view of things moral and political as great as the one that took place when Christianity replaced Greek and Roman paganism.” (empahsis mine) …
“Value relativism can be taken to be a great release from the perpetual tyranny of good and evil, with its cargo and shame and guilt, and the endless efforts that the pursuit of the one and the avoidance of the other enjoin. Intractable good and evil cause infinite distress – like war and sexual repression – which is almost instantly relieved when more flexible values are introduced.  One need not feel bad about or uncomfortable with oneself when just a little value adjustment is necessary.  And this longing to shuck off constraints and have one peaceful, happy world is the first of the affinities between our real American world and that of German philosophy in its most advanced form, given expression by the critics of the President’s speech.”
 Here Bloom is referring to the clamor arising when President Reagan referred to the Soviet Union as the “evil empire.”  When yet at another time Reagan said that the Soviets had “different values,” this statement was met “at worst with silence and frequently with approval,” thus revealing our loathing of absolutism in the former statement.
 At the beginning of the chapter Values, Bloom, relates, “We have come back to the point where we began (in the book), where values take the place of good and evil.” (emphasis mine)
And so like Gollum we place the utmost value on the ring of power, becoming blind to its tyranny over us. Along with the ring we call our values “My Precious.”  Under the yolk of temporal “values” and without facing the serious questions of life we lose ourselves, we lose the real.  We lose love, romance, culture, art ~ everything that gives meaning to life.
 Love or charity, a virtue which must be constantly worked at, is replaced with ‘sexual rights.’ Consider that in our culture sexual activity is not to be repressed or self-controlled but rather it is to be given preeminent unrestrained “value.” Think Sandra Fluke and contraception. Think in-your-face homosexuality. Does America “confirm her soul in self-control” or not?
 Romance, apart from truth is portrayed in movie after movie as just a response to nihilism. Nowhere to be found is the expectation, the unrequited desire and the hoped-for revelation of real romance. Without absolutes there can be no true romance.
 We are a culture that seeks therapeutic counseling.  Yet modern psychology, the sworn enemy of shame and guilt, refuses to talk about good and evil and therefore offers nothing for the soul. Freudian psychology only brings the patient back to repressed sex.
 Modern art has nothing of consequence to offer. Consider the pop art of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
 Deafening music, pop or rock, pummels our ear drums daily evoking barbaric passions and depriving the soul of its senses.
 Tattoos deface our bodies so as to reveal our disdain for the discipline that purity of mind and body requires. Inking is given the (non-)value of counter-culture and rabble-rousing.
 Religion, wherein serious questions are faced, is being replaced by positive thinking as preached from the temples of TV.
 In view of the fact that our nation is becoming increasingly devoid of absolutes and truth while at the same time becoming increasingly laced with relativism and sliding scale “values” consider this:
 Jesus, the Son of the Living God and The Way, the Truth and the Life says, “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Free from what? Free from fear.  All fear:  the fear of the unknown, the fear of facing ultimate accountability, the fear of death, the fear of loss and personal suffering, the fear of evil.  Jesus’ perfect love casts out all fear. Because of this we can face the serious questions of life head-on knowing that God ~ Father, Son and Holy Spirit love us, that They stand with us and that Jesus has gone before us through the same difficult places. Seek Him and He will be found.
 Going back to the LTR analogy do you remember how Frodo and Sam and the rest rejoiced that the ring had been destroyed, that their arduous life and death journey had been accomplished? Their courage and resoluteness saved the shire, themselves and Middle Earth even while the others in the shire had no clue as to what was going on.  You and I must do the same.
You Be The Judge
Congressman Trey Gowdy hotly contests the Obama administration’s lies after the siege of the American Embassy in Benghazi, Libya and the murder of U.S. Ambassador Stevens and three others.
“In Fact!” “Concrete evidence!”
Is Congress, the People’s Elected Representatives, being bypassed by the Obama administration? You better believe it.
